"I bought these inserts along with the small Matrix half pad with coolback fleece, hoping it would mimic the very expensive Thinline Comfort Pad but with a smaller length and lower price. First of all, it is a slightly challenging to get the inserts into the pad, as the pad has stiff velcro openings. Then once I got it in and positioned it, I noticed the insert was too big and constantly caused a bump somewhere in the pad. I could probably have cut it to adjust as it was quite thin foam but paying $65 for something that I had to cut didn't seem worth it.
Overall, I think if you got the bigger half pad and want a small amount of impact protection (this is very thin foam), these could be useful. However, they need to note the size discrepancy and make them easier to position in the pad and be aware that the impact protection is minimal."
