"I rarely write negative reviews but I consider this one as a friendly warning, and thus my public duty. This thong is super-comfortable to wear- as the other reviews have stated it lays flat, it fits well, no bunching, etc. It does ride fairly high for those of us used to lowrise pants, so that is something to consider. I wear it regularly with my daily clothes, and again find this style to be very comfortable.
In the saddle, however, this thong is an instrument of torture for me. I am exaggerating only a little- I have two pairs, and tried both of them under my breeches on three different occasions, and I still have a several-inches wide rub mark from my last effort five days ago. OWWWWW. I can now ride again without a lot of pain but geez- this is not an area where a rub mark sits well! I ride jumpers, and do a lot of jumper-dressage with my two guys (so there is much sitting) but I have never had this happen before in my 20+ years of riding.
I don't know if it is just my body configuration (I'm pretty average-sized/thin), but I usually ride in a thong or a g-string (other underwear bunches on me). Quite honestly I was astounded at the level of chafing produced during even a quick flat session with the Smartpak thong, each time.
Hopefully this does not happen to you if you decide to buy this otherwise great, well-fitting piece of clothing. If it does, however, please write a review so I don't feel like such a freak. I am happy for the other reviewers that their thongs worked out well for them, but I was surprised no one else had this problem since for me, with both pairs, riding has been MONUMENTALLY painful."

"Since I ride in Texas, anything that can help me stay cool is something I will try. This thong is cute, comfortable, cool, and of course, no VPL which is the whole point! I love the wide band so it doesn't dig in to my sides, and it has a cute, subtle pattern on it which I love! I bought 3! Highly recommend, thanks again, SmartPak for another great product!"

"Ok, thongs take some getting used to. When I started wearing them, it was distracting having something invading my "personal" space. But now that's all I wear, and these thongs are comfortable, stretchy, and soft. So far, they are holding up well too!"

"I'm always on the lookout for the best way to avoid panty lines in breeches, and thongs like this are the best solution in my book. The SmartShape Seamless Riding Thong has all the qualities I look for: soft, wicking material; wide waistband that stays in place (i.e., doesn't roll down) and no-show colors. They're just a really nice design that won't disappoint! And they hold up well in the wash, too."
