I bought the shims for extra padding in my super sensitive TB, not to adjust the saddle (it fits him perfectly). The Contender II pad does have padding, but it needed a little extra. These shims did the trick. All of his back pain is gone!

I purchased the Contender II saddle pad, and love that, but as my horse lost weight his saddle really sat too low on his back. These shims did the trick of raising the saddle back up off his back so I don't have to get a new one or reflock yet. He does warm up quicker with this pad and I think it makes him more comfortable.
