"The Mountain Horse Mountain Rider jacket was a great purchase! It fits true to size. I really like the inner cuffs. It keeps the cold out and the sleeves don't hang past my hands. I have short arms and that's usually a problem. I like the adjustable waist band for a more custom fit. All of the pockets are handy. It's warm, but not bulky. My area is very windy and I was still cozy when it dropped to the teens. My only complaint is that the collar is very high, which is great to keep the draft out, but annoying when you don't need it. It would be nice if there were snaps to hold it down when not in use. I can't comment on durability yet, I've only had it for 2 months. Very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend this jacket!"

"Love this jacket. Lots of pockets, very warm and great for working around the barn in the winter or riding. It is a little bulky for riding, but when its super cold...it doesn't matter. Haven't gotten cold yet!"

"I originally bought the Mountain Horse Winnipeg. I had an Ariat barn jacket that was about 10 years old and the Winnipeg seemed to be pretty comparable. Smartpak didn't have my size so I had to go elsewhere...Long story short, the Medium (I'm 5'10"/150) was a good fit but just didn't have enough room in the shoulders.
After returning the Winnipeg, I looked at the reviews for this jacket. Fortunately when I was looking, Paige's 1 star review wasn't up yet or else I probably wouldn't have bought the jacket.
I am glad I did though! Although here in Phoenix AZ we don't have many occasions to use a heavy winter jacket, I go to a lot of endurance rides that have very cold mornings. I was worried this jacket may even have been too heavy. However when I woke up at my recent ride and there was 2" of snow on the ground, I was happy I had it!
I love this jacket and so far, no issues with it at all!
ps--I did move up to a Large in this jacket. It is a little big around my waist (no way to adjust), however there is room in my shoulders that just wasn't there in the Medium"

"Unfortunately I'm going to have to change my recent review on this jacket..
As I stated below, I had to return the jacket that I origionally bought for a friend because of a faulty zipper. The coat that was returned to my friend developed a hole in the cuff of the sleeve within days. Because of her past experience with this coat, she was extra careful with the jacket... but unfortuantely it ripped.
Such a shame because it is a beautiful jacket.."

"I bought this jacket as a gift for a friend and she absolutely loved it. I'm happy that I didn't take it out of the bag when I received it because I would not have given it up. The jacket does run a bit big, just follow the size chart and rest assured that Smartpak has free return shipping.
The jacket that I bought was a little faulty, there was a problem with the zippers. The jacket was returned and a replacement was sent out to my friend.
Jacket is too nice to be worn in the barn, it's very warm and stylish. Well worth the money, I'm saving up for one for myself!"

"Have been wanting this type coat forever, but the sizes were always too big, even when xs. Decided to give it a try cuz of the free return shipping. Love it... cozy, nice hood, sleeves a bit too long, but can easily remedy that. Almost too nice to use for the barn, so will probably use it for more as a regular warm coat for daily use until it starts to look 'worn.'"
