"Love the fabric, light weight but warm. The hay falls off and the hood kept my head dry in heavy snow. The fit is flatering because it curves in at the waist. The length is just right."

"I had placed this hoodie on my Christmas Smartpak Wish List because I have always loved Ariat. I used to work at a tack shop and knew their winter apparel had always been warm and durable. My husband chose this item from among others in my Wish List. When I opened it, I was rather shocked at the quality, but not in a good way. As a Floridian who has just moved to Maryland, I was looking for very warm layers for our first winter here, and this jacket was not going to make the cut. The jersey outer is almost like a softshell type material, which is nice and I could see it repelling horse hair, but the fleece interior is VERY thin. I stepped outside into 40 degree weather just to give it a fair try, and my Walmart hoodie is actually warmer than this one! I honestly don't see anything that would justify the price other than the Ariat name. It runs large, too-I have purchased all of my jackets and hoodies in mediums to allow for layering (I'm usually a small), but this jacket was downright baggy. I sent it back, and substituted it for an ELT Doreen Fleece Jacket, which actually cost less with the current discount, and has turned out to be a MUCH better value! I would recommend this maybe to diehard Ariat fans who want a light jacket for fall or spring, but if you're acclimating to cold weather, I would not choose this one."
