"This thing is great. Easy to use, easy to put the bit in (even with big winter gloves on), and it warms the bit up to just the right temp. I was a little skeptical on spending $40 on this but after using it this winter, I was happy I did. As soon as I get to the barn I plug it in and put my bit in. Once my horse is tacked up it is ready to go! The key is remembering to plug it in right when I get there! If you are on the fence about spending the money... do it. You will be glad you did."

"It takes awhile to heat the bit, but if you plug it in right when you get to the barn, the temperature is perfect by the time you are done grooming. We have two and have been using ours since the late fall."

"I got tired of holding the bit in my hands or shoving it in my pocket to warm it up. This heater does the trick. I plug it in and leave it while I get my horse ready. Takes about 15 minutes. Note: it does not work well on port bits or bits smaller than 5". My Arabian gelding has a 5" medium port bit, I can shove the bit blanket around it but it's not as easy & it doesn't heat up as fast because I can't wrap it as tightly. My Kimberwick snaffle is 4 3/4" and it doesn't fit well on that either. The bit blanket is stiff material making this tricky to shove around my bits. The electrical cord gets in the way when wrapping the blanket around the bit. BUT Despite all this, it still heats up the bit, so my horse & I are happy!"

Bit Blanket doesn't wrap as tight around this port bit

Would wrap okay around this bit if its a full size 5"
"This has made my life so much easier! I just plug it in when I groom and tack up and the bit temp is perfect. No more walking to the kitchen or restroom to run it under hot water or holding it in my hands to warm it up. Great invention, love it!"
"I love the bit blanket and my horse appreciates it too! Much better than warming the bit in hot water or with disposable warmers. I plug in the bit warmer while I tack up my horse and her bit is warm and ready to go when I'm finished."

"I have to admit that I felt a little silly purchasing this bit blanket but it is great. In Rochester NY it can get quite chilly and I never felt that my hands were warming the bit up enough so I thought I would try this. What is nice about this product is that it warms the bit up to the perfect temperature and bit stays at that temperature for a while. Long enough to get the bridle and unplug the bit blanket and then get back to your horse! A must for winter riding!"

"The bit warmer has come in very handy this winter. It warms quickly and saves me time as I don't have to run the bit in warm water."

"Works well. Gets the bit just about room temperature. Only negative is if you have a hunter D ring bit with curved corners it doesn't fit well in the blanket. Loose ring bits fit best."

"love the bit blanket. easy to use. great product. warms the bit. wartrms my hands! price is reasonable too. dont know how we did without bit blanket for the past 10years in these ny winters!!! No more microwaving bean bags to wrap my horse's bit! love it!"
"I hate putting dirty or cold bits in my horse's mouth, so this little gadget just makes me feel like a better horse mom! Per the instructions, it takes about 20 minutes to heat up the bit, but I think it's actually quicker acting. I ride my horse with a 5 1/4-size bit, and the mouthpiece fits perfectly in this heated wrap. The cord is about 5' long. which is sufficient but for my set-up, a slightly longer cord would be useful. Handy little product."

"I requested the bit warmer from my family last year for christmas through the company that makes them. I am so very glad I did because I canNOT live without it in the winter now!! I plug it in once I get there, and the bit is nice and warm by the time I'm tacked up. It does not get bits overly warm, but it does take 15-20 minutes to warm depending on how cold the bits are. I've got the bits started warming then finished in my sweatshirt on days I was in a hurry.
I have warmed up multiple bits in the pouch including two loose ring french links, a french link and a medium port curved bit, and two french links and the curved bit (this one was a tight fit!). It does take longer to warm the multiple bits, but it is perfect if I want to switch between english and western or if I am riding two different horses. I can leave the second bit warming while I'm riding the first horse!
This is the BEST purchase I have made for my horse! I rode to a friends house one day and put my horse up in her barn long enough for us to go inside and warm up. Silly me forgot to take my bridle inside and had to warm my bit up by hand before we left. I decided to put the bit in my mouth (kinda gross I know :P) to warm it up faster. HOLY COW was it cold!!!! I will not EVER put a cold bit in my horses mouth after that experience."
"Love my Bit Blanket! I wrap it around my horse's bit before I start grooming, and by the time I've got her brushed and saddled, the bit is warm. Doesn't "overwarm", just takes the chill off of the bit (the barn's tack room is not heated). Fits a 5" bit well, but might not be so easy to wrap around a smaller bit. Bummer that SmartPak only stocks the black color- the "Barn Red" is much easier to spot in a cluttered tack trunk!"
