"Piper needed a new halter and I wanted something fancy and nice looking enough for his rockstar style, but inexpensive enough to live on his stall in the barn and be used everyday. I usually get 3/4" track halters and was a little worried that the thicker halter would look off on his very type-y TB face, but especially with the nameplate it looks really great on him.
And if he or the tractor break it, I won't have to cry about why I can't have nice things :)"

"I made the mistake of not reading reviews but this horse sized halter is huge on my 14.1 hand horse. She has a smallish head, and this halter swallows her. I should have ordered a smaller one."

"I bought this halter 2 years ago as a show halter then started using it as an every day halter. My horse broke the first couple of holes 2 times, both times it broke away. So this will be my second halter. Best halter for the price as well!"

I don't know why anyone would spend upwards of $100 on a leather halter when you can buy this one at 1/2 the cost.

"Halter came promptly and smartpak took off $23 for some reason, plus no shipping! Gotta love the customer service. As far as the halter itself goes, the leather is good quality and the name plate was pre-attached, which is nice. Casper looks very handsome and everyone at my barn was surprised at how cheap it was! If you're looking for a low-cost, high-quality leather halter, this is a great option."

"I bought 2 of these halters, one for my morgan cross and one for my daughter's ottb. They both have smaller size heads so I ordered the cob size since I read from the reviews these tend to run a bit large. The halters fit great on them both. I was especially please that the name plates I also ordered were already attached. I love the quality of these halters and would definitely order them again."

"This halter has high quality leather, but the hardware is cheap. The catalog says this halter has solid brass hardware, but the website states it is brass plated. It is indeed brass plated, as the hardware on my halter now looks silver. Smartpak needs to change the catalog, as this is misleading. I would not buy this halter again due to the hardware. It also runs small. The Smartpak name on the buckle is also not appealing."

"I found this halter to run a little small. I ordered the large pony size for my Dutch Warmblood yearling, as she has a rather fine head. Even on the largest crown and noseband holes, I was unable to hook the throat snap. Thanks to the awesome SmartPak free shipping and returns, I was able to trade that halter for the cob size. It is a bit oily when you first get it, but in a short time the oily smell and residue do dissapate."
