"I fed this to two young geldings that had started to chew on the wood top rails of the fence. It seemed to work at first, but when they were moved to a spot where there was "new" wood they started right back. So I would say the end result of the two month trial was not good therefore the value rating is also low. I am a breeder of Hanoverian horses and enjoy working with the youngsters. My grown daughters ride - one loves jumping the other dressage. We have been SmartPak customers since the beginning- quite possibly the first in our area. Thank you SmartPak for years of great quality service!"

"My mare gets bored and chews the wood in her stall, not a lot- but enough to be an annoyance! I wasn't sure how I felt about this product, but it worked! I started her on this- along with using that cheap spray inside her stall, (and I bought her a lick-it). She hasn't touched the lick-it (I thought this my occupy some of her time), but stopped chewing on the wood! I've used the product for 2 months."

"Did not slow my mare down at all. It states that it is guaranteed to stop would chewing in 7 days. At the 7 day mark I put my mare in a stall with wood and this is what it looked like 12 hours later. This WAS a 2x6."

"After 6 weeks, we saw no difference in the amount of chewing going on with 2 of our horses. All of our horses get free choice minerals and basically, that's what Quitt is...minerals. Unfortunately this is a much more costly way of giving minerals to horses.
So, if the chewing is from boredom, no amount of extra minerals is going to make a difference!
I was hoping something in Quitt might be lacking in their diets, but, again, it's just minerals."

"My horse is a beaver - he doesn't crib, but sure does like to chew on wood. After a month on Quitt, I can safely turn him loose in the ring or dry lot and not have to worry about him eating everything wood in sight - very handy when I'm moving jumps by myself ;)"

"This product is a waste of money.Ingrediants are very similar to basic dietary suppliments found at just about any feed/milling store. It does NOT work to stop a horse from chewing. I tried a 1 month supply on my horse and she still chews like a beaver."

"Have used this product on and off for the past year. Has worked the first week, though as time goes by a dedicated chewer has been known to start chewing again but at least not the whole barn. My horse chews when bored so I'm sure to use it when she'll be in a stall for a time, ex: at a show, trainer's barn, winter snows."

"She loved the taste, but it didn't even slow her wood chewing down. I had her on it for 2 months.
I finally got a muzzle to put on during the time of day when she was most likely to start chewing.
I also sprayed the fence with deer repellent to see if that would keep her away, too early to tell.
It's worth a try, just sorry it didn't work for us."

"I purchased this for horse that we board that was eating all of our trees. I thought it was a nutritional problem since we feed high quality feed and supplements with free choice hay. For the first two months this supplement seemed to help, but now she is back to eating the trees again even with the supplement. I am not sure this actually works."

"I have 3 bad cribbers. I hate the "medieval torture" cribbing collars so decided to try "Quitt". It WORKS! We are now replacing the destroyed wood in the barn and safely so, since we are rid of the cribbing!"
