"We use this product every time we give our horses any medication. It does a GREAT job protecting our horses tummies, I wouldn't go without it! The only problem is getting them to eat it! It has a weird vanilla-ish smell that no horse I've encountered seems to care for! I mix mine with a little water and give it through an oral syringe, and viola, problem solved! Very high quality, and pretty affordable...just takes a little work to administer."

"My mare has Navicular and has to be on Bute periodically. She did colic once and the vet recommended I use G.U.T. She also takes a lot of Isoxuprine tablets each day. I give her a scoop of G.U.T. every morning and she has not had a problem with medications. I have told other people about this product and the only place I have found it is at Smart Pak Equine. It is the most affordable product I have found for long range use. Ordering is simple and it is delivered to my door in a matter of days."

"My vet recommended this product for my TB that had recently experienced an ulcer of unknown etiology. Unclear whether he has historyof ulcers but he has been off the track for some years. I introduced 1/4 dose in his grain and he would not eat the product when mixed with his grain, apples, carrots or any other highly desirable treats unfortunately."

"I initially put my 6 yo Appendix QH on G.U.T. as a preventative because he was working very hard, both physically and mentally, training in Dressage. After about a year of being on it, I gradually removed it from his supplement regimen (trying to cut some expenses). Oh man, within in 3 months my otherwise good natured, very happy horse became cranky; stopping about 10 feet from the cross-ties and resisting, bounced his head up and down while standing in anticipation of being tacked, pinned his ears as I cinched up his girth and started feeling tight and uncomfortable when we did arena work. He went back on G.U.T. and in a short period of time he was back to being eager to work and the happy barn clown he was before I took him off it. Couldn't believe the remarkable difference in my boy's level of comfort."

"I can't really review the effectiveness of the product as my mare won't eat it. I mixed this powder with her grain, but she only ate a tiny bit of her grain. My mare already gets Cosequin with MSM which she loves, and she usually is quite a pig at meal time. I was shocked with her reaction as the product is touted as being good for picky eaters. She is not picky, except for this."

"My horse has been on the straight antacids and other ulcer supplements so I really didn't expect to see a difference with this one but I wanted to try one with L-Glutamine and it has definately made a difference, he is more comfortable and he hasn't been seen cribbing in several weeks (knock on wood!)"

"Based on his exam, our chiropractor recommended this product for my son's roping horse. He felt that if she didn't already have an ulcer, she was definitely working on one, and Smartpak was the most cost efficient source. Our mare wasn't real thrilled with the taste at first, but now she just gobbles it down without a problem. We've only had her on it for a short time, and so far, so good - no new symptoms and she's gaining weight like mad!!"

"I live outside of Houston, TX and this year we have had a very hot and dry year with the grass drying up and dying off. My horses are used to having lots of time out in the pasture but we have had to keep them up most of the day in paddocks to try and salvage the roots of the pastures till rains came. My horses seemed to be struggling just a little...just something was off...slight weight loss, slight hair coat change, slight temperment changes...all very very slight but I knew they weren't happy. I am guessing with the heat and dryness and changes in routine they started stressing but within days of adding the G.U.T. to thier feed they started to gain weight and seemed a happier. I think they were possibly struggling with ulcers or gut issues. So glad to have used this product. It smells great and my horses didn't have any problem with it."

"My mare has been on G.U.T. for over a year now, and i love it. She's off the track and we were having a very difficult time putting/keeping weight on her. She was being very picky and not terribly interested in finishing her grain. This product not only passed her sniff test (and it does smell great), but helped her to feel more comfortable and be able to finish her meals, and put the weight on."

"I started using this on my young horse (2 at the time) after he had several bouts of mild colic. We treated him for ulcers and have continued with the GUT with great results. No more episodes of colic for almost 1 year. He is the only horse of mine that I am using this on, but is also the only one with a sensitive stomach."

"I have a now 23 year old warmblood that would go on and off his feed on a regular basus without any reason, and would blow up when being saddled. I decided after reading through all the possible supplements to try GUT. This horse has not gone off his feed ONCE since starting him on it over 2 years ago. We also have not had any issues with saddling - though I still don't trust him not to at some point! He's not getting any younger but he is able to hold his weight and muscle for which I am extremely grateful. As picky as he is about eating - he ate the product from day one with no issues."
