Augment

Augment is a comprehensive, balanced multi-nutrient formula with bioavailable chelated trace minerals, all vitamins including Biotin, plus the amion acids Methionine and Lysine, all in a digestive aid yeast base. Augment is designed to add vital nutrients that are low in the rations of horses on hay only diets, horses receiving unfortified grains, or horses consuming less than recommended levels of fortified grains. Augment is highly palatable, is great for all ages of horses and can be fed with all forages. Augment aids in hoof quality, too!

I've had my mare on this for several months and didn't notice a difference in her. Her coat is still dull, her skin is dry, and her hooves looked the same (dry/brittle). I'm definetley changing my smartpaks. She always licks her bucket clean but I won't be recomending the Augment to anyone simply because I don't think it has done a thing.

I opted for this supplement due to its absence of potassium. It provides the other desirable nutrients my horse needs since he is on limited pasture, grass hay & whole oats due to his allergies and head shaking syndrome.

We have only been using this for a couple months but it seems like a good replacement for another supplement we were using that we couldn't purchase through SP. So far, so good and may be improving their coats. It is in a powder form that we mix with a few oats to feed it to them. The horses got used to it quickly seem to really like it. I can't believe how good this product smells - must be good for them!

Augment in by far the best general supplement I have ever used. Comparisons to other horses in the barn show that coat and hoof quality is generally better. My horses seem to by-pass any illness in the barn. Excellent value too!

This is a great multi-vitamin for horses who have HYPP, as it is potassium-free. My picky mare eats it without reserve, and I like that it's a kind of mini-flake type supplement, which seems to be better delivery system than powder or pellets. Powder can get stuck to the side of the bucket or feeder, even if you take care to mix the feed well, and some very picky eaters can "eat around" the pellets they don't like.
The only thing I don't particularly like about this supplement is that it takes two smartpak wells to give the full dose, and extra wells take up more space in my supplement drawer, making it so that the whole month's supply doesn't quite fit in the drawer.

This is by far the best all-around supplement I have ever fed my horses. Condition, coat and hoof health are better than any other horse in the barn.

Smells like Cayenne peppers to me. It's really strong and almost overpowering. My mare smelled it and won't even eat her food really. The goats get it.

After reading other reviews, we were concerned that our horses might turn their noses up to Augment. Quite the contrary. We mix it in with their oats and soy meal and they can't wait to get to it. The product's contents round out any gaps in our horses' nutritional needs perfectly.

My horse is very picky when it comes to supplements. I had hoped he would get past the fact that Augment was not a pelleted supplement. Unfortunately, he left most of it in the bottom of his feed tub. I still think this is a good product, especially for a horse that has had a bout of laminitis. If your horse will eat a powdered supplement, I still recommend Augument.

The horse this was purchased for refused all attempts to get him to eat it, even refusing his food if he detects it mixed in. I tried several other easy keepers to see if they would eat it but to my surprise not one of the horses I tried would eat this product willingly and all of them left some in the bottom of the bucket and some refused to eat the food at all. I can't attest to any other aspects of this product because I can't get anyone to eat enough of it to judge its effectiveness.

This is a fabulous product. I bought a horse with shelly, brittle hooves and an ordinary coat. After only a few months on Augment the shoer noticed a difference in his hooves and his coat was so shiny people commented on it everywhere we went. All my horses from the elderly pony to the young event horse seem to thrive on Augment. My horses have access to great hay and poor grass quality in their pasture. I am very happy with Augment.

Augment is great, especially for the price. I have a supplement budget for the month, but needed to add something with biotin in it. My horses feet and coat look great, and he loves the taste (normally he is very picky).

Can't Go Wrong

May 19, 2005

This product is a very comprehensive multi-vitamin/mineral supplement in a high-quality yeast base that benefits digestive health as well. With the 5 mg of Biotin per serving, it’s a great choice if your horse has decent feet, but you'd like a little hoof support, too.

Great results!

August 28, 2004

Augment Ultra is excellent... I've been feeding it to my horses for over a year, and I've been very pleased with the results. Their coats have improved, their energy level is steady, and I've been able to cut their grain ration back quite a bit. They LOVE the taste too-- nothing is wasted. The company gives great service, and their products really work. All for a very, very reasonable price. Five stars!
