Usually I don't lunge my horse before riding, but once in a blue moon she will have her frisky moments where I feel it is safer for me to lunge her first. Keeping this item handy will allow me to lunge her safely and change direction easily. The only thing better would be a bit of padding between it and her nose and/or some adjustability in length, but it seems like it does the job.

I put this on the way others mentioned--attached to the noseband of the bridle, not the bit. I mainly wanted it to use for a brief longe at the beginning of the ride to see how my three-year old is feeling that day. But I have also used it on a halter as well for a short time and it is more stable than longeing off the halter alone. I don't use it if I am actually working my horses on the longe versus riding.

For it's job, it is well constructed and sturdy, but I found it too heavy and irked my horse's sensitive mouth. I kept it because it could eventually be useful, but definitely too heavy and thick for me or my horse's liking.

Nice aid to have for groundwork. Makes changes of direction easier and allows for more variety in excercises. I attach mine at the noseband to have the same effect while staying out of the horses mouth.

I purchased this item to help me save time detaching and reattaching the lunge line when I wanted to have my horse change directions and it works very well, however it arrived slightly different than what is pictured in the online catalog. It took my horse a few minutes to figure out that I just wanted him to change directions but once he did it was a simple and time saving choice for me.

I love this attachment. My mare is recovering from a recent surgery and is limited on how much physical activity she can do. This attachment makes lungeing a breeze. No worries about switching directions and it can be used with side reins. I won't be without one.

It may sound simple, but when lunging young horses, I hate that moment when you take off the lunge line to change directions. Now I don't have to. Totally worth it!

I've wanted one of these for quite a while, but hadn't found the right one yet. This product does reduce the need to stop your horse to reverse directions on the lunge, and is very helpful when training babies with a rider on and a ground person holding the lunge line.
The only drawback to this product are that the snaps are smaller than most. Bits with large rings would be impossible to use this with. My french-link egg-butt snaffle cannot be used with this item.
When you pull on the line, this product also pulls harder on the outside of the horses mouth, which with a few of the horses seems to have almost make them want to turn to the outside.
Overall, I really do like this product, and it suits most of my horses well since they know the reverse command.

I am totally in love with this ! It saves so much time when im lounging my horse. No more having to stop her and change sides. it keeps the bit even in her mouth, she's much better when training she doesnt fight the bit anymore. and no more inacurete cues to her.
