SmartPak Safety Halter
Safety Halters are a barn staple! Crown piece is leather and adjustable on both sides of the halter.?The heavy nylon webbed noseband and cheek pieces are extremely durable while the soft leather crown piece adds breakaway safety.Adjustable chin. Brass plated hardware. Navy, Green, Black. Cob, Horse, Warmblood.

"I don't generally use a 1" webbing halter on an arab but needed a safety halter to use with a muzzle and it was suggested the 1" would work best. My 15.1h arab gelding doesn't have a overly dishy face but this halter is huge on him. I had to put the nose buckle on the last hole which looks messy as there is a lot of extra webbing dangling. Plus I added two extra holes on both sides of the leather strap across the pole to get it to fit. Only after adding all five merino wool halter/muzzle covers does the halter fit a little better. The nose band isn't on the last hole but I am still using one extra hole per side on the pole strap. My point, if I wasn't using this with a muzzle it would be to big to use on my average size arab. He wears a cob in everything else (and usually a 3/4" halter). I haven't used it enough to speak to quality but it seems sturdy."

"Great halter for the price - it runs quite large, as other reviewers have stated. Looks good on too! Would recommend for trailering and turnout. Attached is a photo of my 3 year old Anglo Arab wearing his - he's 15.1+ and about 800lbs in this picture, wearing the Cob size on the top holes."

"It worked out exceptionally well for my horse as regular horse halters are sometimes a little small for him, but the larger warmblood halters are too big. I can't rate the durability as it's only been on him about a week. Of course, it's a safety halter and we WANT it to break if necessary."

"I live in South Florida and this halter can't withstand the humidity. The hardware is completely rusted and the clasp doesn't work any more after one year of use. Would not recommend this halter. I have another halter that is at least seven years old and the hardware is perfect. Look for solid brass on these."

"Nice weight, good quality halter. Nylon is silky and soft. The head piece is a tad thin for my uses. You could replace it with a stronger one if desired. Yes it's a breakaway halter but the crown seems like it wouldn't take emergency conditions to snap. Great for a horse you trust, not great for a horse apt to spook while leading. I would use this for my old trusty horses but would not chance leading my youngster in it - would advise leading difficult horses in a stronger halter and putting this on them once they're actually in the turnout. Great quality, great color."

"I was looking for a safety halter for turnout so I didn't have to use my nice leather halter. I had a nylon halter that I would leave near the paddock but if it rained, that thing go so stretched out which meant that depending on the weather it could be too big or too small. So when I got this, it was a saving grace. It's smart looking, sturdy, doesn't rub his face. Only wish that it had chrome/silver hardware instead. Otherwise, no complaints!"

"This halter fits my horse nicely and looks great. I love the blue color. It seems sturdy and well made. I only use safety halters for my horses and recommend their use, especially for tying and trailering your horse, or if your horse ever wears a halter when turned out. Smartpaks makes it easy to replace your worn or broken crown pieces (it is good to have an extra on hand, just in case!)"

"I ordered one breakaway halter to fit my draft cross and one to fit my new TB mare, who is a rescue and just a fabulous addition to my farm .Both halters were easy to adjust while already on their heads. In particular with the new little girl where I truly appreciated the very flexible leather crown piece. These halters are a great value and look wonderful on my two horses."
