Customer Reviews for Cashel Reverse Wedge

Cashel Reverse Wedge

The Cashel Reverse Wedge gradually decreases from 1 1/4 at the front to 1/2 at the back. The Cashel Reverse Wedge is ideal for providing additional padding for the high withered/narrow shouldered horse. It also helps prevent the saddle from sliding forward and can be used to level the saddle.Dressage. Black. Medium (fits 17 saddles or Large (fits 17 1/2 saddles).

"I bought this pad to level out the saddle on my slightly downward built mare. She's really wide too and I find that it improves the fit of my saddle. It does what I need it to do, but it is a pain to put on. Will have to invest in a nonslip pad to use with it. Overall a good buy."

"I would of liked the pad to be a little bit bigger. I ride in a 17/12 dressage saddle and feel the pad should of been at least 3 inches longer. Other than that, it's a good buy."

"I got this to try to help lift the pommel off my horse's back a bit more since I can't afford a new saddle. Definitely didn't do anything, I didn't even ride it just by looking it did nothing. I'll be returning this item, I also purchased the Roma pad which is MUCH better and I'll be keeping that pad over this one.
The worst part is I went to take off the sticker and it literally ate some of the pad off with it!!! I hope they will take it as a return now... ugh."

"We use this pad under our reining saddles to help with the "downhill" horses. It provides just enough lift to level out their backs but doesn't make so much difference that it changes how they ride."

"useful to fill in the gaps when a horse has not enough musculature around his withers to keep the saddle in the correct position. Not that easy to position correctly I have to say, but that would be an issue with this type of pad...not this particular pad. Does the job well & is not expensive."

"It's a nice quality wedge pad. The only problem I have is that it slides back sometimes, but my horse has a pretty low back so that's probably why."

"This is a good pad for a downhill horse. I only wish that it were a little larger around, as I think it is designed for an english saddle. I ride in a western round skirt, and also in an EZFit treeless saddle. It works well with both, but could be bigger as I said. The depth of the wither part is perfect. I feel level and stable."

"The Mare got flabby and weak over the winter and her saddle was too big. Enter Stage Right -The Reverse Wedge. It's a nice fix for a forwarded sloping saddle. It's not very pretty but it WORKS. My one complaint is that it's a bit short for my 18" jumping saddle, but beggers can't be choosers as apparently nothing is made for this size saddle...which is giving me a complex but that's a story for another time. I would definitely recommend this product."

"I have tried many combinations of saddles and pads to fit my shark-fin withered Arab. This wedge works! Finally, I can be assured I'm not hurting his withers when I ride. Thanks for a great product!"

"This is a great pad for horses with high "dippy" withers, or loss of muscling in the shoulders. It's great at shock absorption, and very lightweight. The only complaint is that this pad doesn't breathe at all, and a horse can get quite sweaty with it."

great for growing horses

"This pad worked wonderfully on my young, slightly downhill mare. It put the saddle at the proper angle and allowed her to move freely, keeping me upright and off of her withers. Great product!"
