"We Love the Coat. We are having a problem keeping them on the foals. {We have two} the rear of the coat has a bungee type cord to fasten it on but it slips up and over their heads. What I did too keep them on is run them in between the back legs and fasten. so far this has worked. Unsure if this is right though..
I do love the coat and it is a great value. I would buy again.

"The blanket itself is great quality, however the HUGE velcro used leaves much to be desired...Even though my colt was imprinted, and is not scared of much of anything, the sound of the velcro terrifies him...I guess the next foal will be introduced to the sound of velcro at birth!"

"I like the adjustablity of this blanket and the weather resistance, however I don't like the HUGE velcro, and neither does my colt...i guess next time I'm imprinting a foal I guess I need to add velcro noise to the list of things!"

"This isn't waterproof but def. gets the job done if you're just seeking to keep your baby warm on those cold days this is the blanket. Its on our 6 month old paint filly and although it is short she gets turned out all day and it has not once moved and doesn't have any rips. Its fine for out in the snow but if it's raining will need something waterproof on top. We let our filly first get a little coat before putting it on, will also do great as a liner for a pony since its adjustable."

"Dear smart pak thank you so much for always offering great products at super prices!!!! my foal loves his new blanket. The blanket works best with leg straps, and i had a buckle put on the front so he would not rub or pull open the velcro front. That was the first thing he did being a curious foal was to open the velcro.thanks again smart pak"

"My First time Mom of a Mare foaled early this year. her foal was born in the first week in febuary (a month before she was due) the foal was little and we were having a really rough winter. i bought this coat becuase i have experenced early foals groath spurts in the past and they quickly out grew the blankets but this little colt needed one. the coat was great kept him safe and warm and grew with him! although his mare did chew it up a bit and it is pretty ratty now"

"For some reason this blanket does not come with the rear leg straps like all of our other blankets did. Our colt was able to wiggle out of it and did a pretty good job chewing it up. It must taste good! Buy the optional leg straps and it will fit and stay on fine. Wish we had!!"

"This is the warmest blanket for a growing young colt. It helped to keep my foal warm, even on the coldest Minnesota winter nights. I highly recommend this product."
