"I love providone-iodine--I use it for lots of things. I mix 1/2 iodine w/ 1/2 alcohol and apply to my horse's soles after cleaning unless they are completely dry. I NEVER have thrush! It is non-staining, and I squirt it on straight (and do not rinse) on the legs if there is a HINT of fungus. In the hot summer when the horses sweat so much, I apply it carefully to the forelock and massage it in if they are getting any fungus there. Any knick, and I apply it straight to disinfect and then put whatever ointment I am using. I consider this one of my most inexpensive but useful products."

"I use this product after the soaking\draining stage of a hoof abscess. It disinfects and hardens up the hoof. It is an especially good product to use if the farrier created a drainage channel in the hoof."
