"I have struggled to find the right combination of supplements for my mare who has a tilted pelvis. Because it throws off her angles, I have tried to put her joint support first since all the compensating puts more wear than normal on them. I switched her to this from the original Cosequin, and she has been doing fabulous. Moving better than ever, and even feels more balanced. She tends to fair better when she stays in consistent, light exercise about 3x a week. I notice those rides are more consistent, with more focus, and that she needs less time to warm up.
She hasn't turned up her nose at her feed yet with this in it either - but I also hide it in soaked beet pulp. Powder just tends to go everywhere when fed dry! But I wouldn't even consider that a draw back on this supplement."

"This is a great product, however, people need to know that there is not any flavoring or smell at all, as in the full size jar container from Cosequin, which is cherry flavored or a really super sweet apple. The horse that this was for did indeed notice the lack of smell, and flavor, as he had been on the full-size product directly from Cosequin. I feel that Smartpak needs to notify customers of this difference or offer a flavor for your horse that is close to the original container.
I use Stomach Soother (papaya), which Smartpak does not carry, to make all the supplements that are very fine powders "stick" to the feed. When I decided to switch to the little smartpaks, I was told that the Cosequin SP was exactly like the Optimized w/MSM, but the smell is an issue with some horses. Maybe they smell a chemical smell, and we do not, and the Cherry/Apple original helps mask it?"

"I think its a good buy if your horse will eat it. I'd ask for a sample first. My mare would not eat it. I donated it a rescue barn. Smart Pak did not charge me."

"I always had my mare on the original cosequin formula but when we started training harder she started showing signs of being stiff and sore. It seemed like the Cosequin just wasn't cutting it anymore so I gave this a try. I wanted to stick to the high quality premium ingredients that Cosequin uses but with a little extra "help". Within two weeks my mare was high steppin' and ready to go. She moves with much more swing through her hind end and back. I really love that this has a full dose of MSM and also vitamin c. Very satisfied!"

"I purchased my horse 11 years ago. At that time, I was told that he had some changes in his hocks indicative of joint disease. I have had him on an oral joint supplement since I purchased him- most of the time it was a Cosequin product. Knock on wood- he has only needed joint injections 3-4 times in the 11 years of use-mostly flat work but some jumping up to 3ft."

"I am using this product on a 16 year old TB showhunter for a month. I have seen improvement in his gaits and in his jump. He doesn't seem to be so stiff and moves more freely. Will continue to use for several more months to get the total effect. Looking to completely replace hock/joint injections."

"This seems to have made my mare more comfortable and free moving. She's 11, but has been a 3'6" horse for awhile, and can be a little creaky and short strided when she first comes out. Now she seems to be more willing to step underneath herself and her front end seems more free. I'm in general pretty skeptical about supplements, but this one seems to have made a difference. She can be picky and she eats this with no problem."

"In less than a month of use I see an improvement already in my 19 year old quarterhorse. Before the Cosequin SP his first trot was very stiff but he always worked out of it. Now he goes off like a 6 year old (and with an attitude to match) I have my old guy back!"

"My horse has been on many different brands of joint supplements. Name it, he's been on it. Can I say that any of them worked? Well, not really....
My horse is quite young (7) and strong so at the time I thought, that there was no difference with the joint supplements, as there was nothing to fix. He was strong and healthy... or so I thought. Until the x-rays reviled arthritis and a chip in his right hock. I stopped jumping from supplement to supplement (in hopes of seeing any improvement), as I realized that non of them really worked (even the most expensive ones). And finally gave cosequin a try. Well let me tell you, my horses movement (dressage horse) improved from a 6 to a 9 in a matter of two month. I am so happy and grateful that my boy is pain free and happy now, I should have put him on cosequin much sooner. I always thought that other supplements had more of this or more of that, but in reality cosequin is not even comparable to the other substances. It really works. Thank you for a great product!"
