Had to order bigger size

"There is little stretch so we had to go a size up but it matches the saddle we have well and is durable. It is a little tough to get buckled at first because the elastic isn't on the ends, but I think it gives it a more polished look."

"I have had this girth for 10 years, and it has held up great. It is easy to clean, just like the wintec saddles. My complaint is they call it elastic, but even when I first bought it had NO give what-so-ever, it has never had any give. Like other have said you tighten it up as much as you can and get on and after a few times around it is loose, even on horses that don't puff up (maybe that is the elastic part of it?). I bought a different girth that had elastic in it, and I could definitely tell when girthing up. If you are really looking for elastic, spend your money on a different girth."

"I absolutely hate this girth. I will get it as tight as possible, but when I get on and start warming up the girth is loose again. My horse doesn't puff out or anything, she's super easy to girth up. I have tried all sorts of tricks and none of them work. Other people have tried and it happens every time. I don't have this problem with my leather girth that has elastic ends. If I didn't have that problem, it'd be a perfect girth. It's pretty simple to clean (although dirt gets stuck inside the grooves), doesn't chaffe and it's light weight."

"I've had this same girth for my dressage saddle for a long time and it's held up great for years. When I needed a new girth for my jumping saddle, after some trial and error with other girths, I ended up with this one. My mare is a bit, um, round of belly, and I find that this is the best girth I've tried so far that keeps her saddle from slipping the least. It's just a tad stretchy, but not too much (double- and even single-end elastic girths are too stretchy for my gal), and it fits a lot better than the cord-type girths. It seems to be very comfortable and neither it nor my dressage girth have ever caused rubs on any of the horses I've used them on. I actually like this model and think it fits my mare better than the other Wintec girth, the shaped one. Also, one of the BEST things about it is that it's ridiculously easy to clean. My only beef with it is that I wish the h/j one came in brown to match my saddle, but that's a little thing compared with its great functionality and fit."

"I've had a wintec for almost seven years now, and have gone through two of these girths in that time. They wash great- spray them with a hose or wipe down and they look like new! I like my faux sheepskin girth better only because it makes my girthy mare more comfortable- when I go cross country or feel like my saddle is slipping, this is my go-to girth
This girth isn't stretchy in the sense of a girth with the elastic on both sides on the buckles. It stretches all the way through and provides great grip, no rubs and is easy to care for if you ride multiple horses. My first girth "gave" as I was girthing up one day, and the difference was immediately apparent- you definitely know when you need a new one, but that one lasted almost four years of sweat and different sized horses before it gave out.
Great quality, product, plus the easy care makes this one a winner!"

"I am a dressage rider, and my saddle has short billets. I have been using the Wintec girth for several years now and I have just ordered my second wintec girth after about 6 years. The girth itself is terrific, and it finally splits in the middle and pinches my horse, but I will probably get another in about another six years. It's a great girth and it wears extremely well for the price you pay."

Wintec girth

October 16, 2008
ByLOK

"While I agree Wintec Elastic Girths do not have a lot of stretch; which is noticeable when buckling up, I have found that all of my horses are very comfortable. Whether you are a long distance trail rider (no chafing, ever, and nothing sticks to it when going through grassy fields), dressage rider, jumper or eventer you will find this a useful addition to the tack room. Extremely easy-care and long lasting product."

"I have had this girth for about four years. It has held up well, and it is easy to wash. It does not stretch well, it actually does not really seem like there IS elastic in it."
