"I use this girth on both of my lipizzans. The shape fits them well. Even though I ride dressage, my Balance saddle requires a long girth. It's great for my very broad mare and my sensitive skinned gelding. I do wish the buckles were on heavy duty elastic, but then they probably wouldn't last as long. I just stand on a mounting block to do the final tightening. The first one has lasted a long time, cleans, doesn't rub, doesn't promote bacteria; I'm happy with it."

"I LOVE these girths. I bought my first one over a year ago and it still looks brand new despite almost daily use for 14 months. Easy to cinch up with the rollers and doesn't stretch too much and require re-tightening halfway through a six hour ride. It does not absorb sweat and get all nasty no matter how hot and humid our South Texas summer days are and mud and sweat rinse right off, so there's no grit or dirt trapped in there to gall or sore. My horse is damp underneath, as expected with these type of girths, but has never once had a sore, rub or gall. When I realized I needed a new, shorter girth, there was no question in my mind that I was buying another Wintec Chafeless."

"I absolutely love my wintec all purpose english saddles. I've trail ridden and shown locally in them for years. I purchased this girth for my belgian QH mare (she's of average QH size). The girth has served us fair, but I must say that it is horrible at contouring to a horse's body. My mare doesn't complain at all about it, but the "elasticity" that wintec advertises with this girth is false. It is very hard to tighten on your horse correctly. When you try to make it snug on your horse, the girth reaches maximum tightness at the lowest part of your horses heart girth area, but it will not conform to the horse's rib cage closer to the saddle. When appropriately tightened, you can easily stick your fingers between the girth near the sides of your horse, but you can't slip your fingers between the lowest contact between the arm pits. There is uneven distribution of pressure. People have commented that my girth looks too loose when they see it on my mare (it truly appears this way), but when I insist that they check for themselves they are astonished at the illusion. In order to make the girth look "snug" all around my mare I would have to wrench it extremely tight.... which I WILL NOT do to my horse. I've given it a solid try, but at this point I'm genuinely unhappy with it. I would not buy another. It does NOT conform properly to my horse as the "elestic" feature claims it should. I'm very sad to say that it is not one of wintec's best products....... It is however, EASY to clean and it looks sharp for small scale showing. I am sad that it hasn't worked out for me."

"I find these girths to be awesome for the price! They are very easy to care for, just rinse and dry! I use mine all the time. My horse seems to be very comfortable as well. I can't use anything but an elastic girth for him, and he took to it right away. I think it is a great girth for everyday use."

"I found this girth hard to adjust on my big bodied mare it was difficult to have the back not as tight as the front , like I can with her dressage girths with more body shape, why don't they make long girths in a style like some of the short Dressage girths?...I am going to use it inside, on my equicizer and use a better quality leather girth for the mare , not a good purchase for me."

"I have used leather, fleece and now the Wintec girths. These girths are awesome! Easy to clean, comfortable for the horse and no chafing!
Living in a hot , humid place it is nice to have a girth that is nice for the horse. Synthetic fleece is hot and fleece also 'balls' up, creating little hard points. When my horse 'reacts' to the leather girth, but not the Wintec girth, that is all the info I need!
Great girths and the contoured girths are even better!"

"I bought this one in a 56" for my big Percheron. I already have it in more normal lengths for my normal sized horses and I have a dressage one. All of the girths are great. This 56" one is working as well as the others. The buckles are of equal quality at each end allowing even adjustments. I live in Florida so deal with heat and humidity and therefore sweaty horses. The girth rinses clean easily. I have a couple of Wintec saddles and they and the girths are as good as my leather ones. I shopped around, SmartPak is SmartPrice!"

Absolutely chafeless

October 29, 2008
ByLOK
fromRosendale, NY
"I've used several different Wintec girths over the years; they do not have a lot of stretch that you notice upon tacking up. However, this girth does give when the horse breathes and moves, so it stretches throughout its entire length. It will last for years, and the elastic properties will endure. Unlike a fleece girth, nothing from the trail or overgrown fields will stick! I've put on many, many endurance miles using these girths. They will not allow heat buildup, so your horse will not chafe. Yes, sweat will lubricate the girth area, which is ideal and very safe for the horse's skin. An excellent, long lasting, easy to clean choice."

It's an ok girth

April 8, 2008
ByMorgan

"I rode my horse in this girth a few days ago because I left my other girth at my house. This girth has a nice stretchy "feeling" but when cinching it up on my horse I felt no elasticity. In fact, it was a little hard to pull the girth up at all. However, while it didn't rub my horse's girth area, it did leave him very sweaty. I'm used to riding him in a fleece girth which absorbs the sweat but my horse was abnormally sweaty after using this and it was about 48 degrees outside. Bottom line, it's an okay girth but I wouldn't buy it."
