"My horse goes through these bits quickly because he likes to chew on the rubber so I was glad that this bit was what I expected. Some advertise rubber but the rubber is almost like plastic, but the rubber on this bit is soft which is what my horse likes."

"I got this bit from SmarkPak, and with in the week it was ruined. The horse wasn't even playing with it to have the rubber bit off. I wound up just peeling the rubber off."

"The little pony I ride loves this bit. She came with it and has always seemed to like it so we never bothered trying anything different. The bit is very thick and i'm surprised it fits in her tiny mouth but she likes it so I guess it doesn't matter. The rubber has started to fall off though so now I need to get her a new one. She's been at my barn for over 2 years though and is ridden around 4 days a week so since she came with the bit i'd say it lasted a while. I'm not sure how long she had it before but i'd say its worth buying every two years or so if your horse likes it."

"Rubber bits traditionally do not last long. They rot and crumble. Horses chew through them. The cracks and pits get filled with gross hay/saliva compounds that you cannot get out. But, they're nice for sensitive mouths (usually thoroughbreds!). They always seem really thick and I don't use them for very long on a horse. FYI, if your horse is drooling - not foaming - his bit is probably too thick."

"Very easy on the mouth. However if you can afford the Happy Mouth, I'd say go for it. Rubber will eventually dry rot and wear will be more noticeable than on the Happy Mouth types.
That being said, if you are going for affordability and don't plan on using it to death, I'd say this takes a good second place to the Happy Mouth bits. It's good for youngsters and older horses alike."

"I ended up returning the bit. It was a lot heavier and bulkier than I expected. The craftmanship was nice, but the rubber shafts were really large in diameter, and the bit was just too heavy. I didn't even put it in my horses's mouth."
