"This is the only absorbent pad we use. It helps the wounds heal better by not allowing pieces of cotton to get into the wound! Love it!"

"Great wrap to bandage wounds, used over the top of a four x four pad and cover with vet wrap. Helped keep swelling down and prevented bandage rubs. I always keep this on hand!"

"these rolls are great. you can use the entire roll, or you can cut off as much as you need. can double as shipping/standing wraps in a pinch. I bought at least 6 rolls for an injured horse, and it's been almost a month and I still have 3 rolls left. they last a long time or they provide thick padding if needed."

"I have used this for years - mainly in my first aid kit for padding under bandages to hold dressings in place - but also as padding under exercise bandages. An absolute staple!"

"My favorite leg bandage material. It never gets stuck to the wound and holds up well. If I'm in a bind and have to use it for standing wraps, it can be re-used."

"It is so hard to find a cotton/wool dressing! This product kept my mare's legs nicely wrapped until her puffy Wilker's wraps arrived and I have also used it over wounds when I was worried about the horse rubbing them."

"I have used this stuff for so many different things! Right now, its padding my mare's foot against the hard ground after losing a shoe, and three weeks ago it was covering a back leg after a kicking injury. The cover can be pulled away and you can use the insides as gauze. It's easily cut into any size and shape with a good pair of scissors. I use it with vetwrap or a standing bandage to secure- it also saves my expensive pillow wraps (for traveling, but have been used in emergencies) from nasty stains, lengthening their lives, as well.
Great stuff!

"I had a horse step into a ground hog hole and tore up the front of his back leg. This was a great bandage for protection and kept his wounds clean. Highly recommend. I hope I don't have to use it again but glad they made something like this."

"I purchased this product as a first aid kit item, and BOY has it come in useful! I used this padding during the past two months while my horse recovered from a serious hoof puncture and subsequent abscess. I would cut out "pads" from the roll and use them to cover my horse's sole/frog, then wrap with Vetwrap and then a duct tape boot. It is a cheaper alternative to buying loads of gauze pads and it holds up well when I needed to hand-walk my horse. It is easy to use, easy to cut into bandages for specific injuries. I think it would also be a wonderful wrap for legs (under vetwrap for injuries, for ex). I won't go without this product in my first aid kit."

"Gamgee saved the day when my husband's mare lacerated her front leg. The vet stitched her and gave me strict instructions to keep the wound padded and wrapped for two weeks. If you have ever tried to wrap a horse's upper leg, you know what a huge undertaking this is. Gamgee is definately the best product for the job. Not only does it keep the wound padded and dry, it is absorbent and does not stick to the wound like cotton roll (what a mess that was!) It is easy to shape or cut to size as well. After this experience I will never be caught without it in my emergency kit again."

Great for those hard to wrap areas!

"This product was a life saver when it came to wrapping my horse's hind leg when he was injured. His injury was at his hock, which the Vet was unable to be stitch so I had to keep it clean and wrapped for several weeks. These pads were so easy to maneuver and kept the wound clean and dry. I would recommend that these pads be an addition to any horse owner's first aid kit. Great product!"
