This is a beautiful piece of metal but it locks up and, therefore, works like a pelham instead of a soft French twist. Don't bother with this bit. It was a real disappointment.

The bit was defective - frozen up. I've never seen anything like it!

The quality of this bit is amazing and is a nice piece of engineering, too. Stays soft in the mouth and hardens up when needed. I also have the pelham, which is equally nice, but it was time to go back to a snaffle with my boy.

Nice Bit

I am using the Stubben EZ Control D-Ring bit for two three year olds, who I am just starting, and I’m very happy with the results. I usually use a different type of snaffle to start youngsters, but the D-rings on this bit are safer than the long full cheek snaffle and still have the effect of helping to 'guide' the young horses head when using an open rein. The fact the bit does not collapse inwards when pressure is applied aids in helping the young horse accept a light contact as there is no danger of pinching tongue.
