"Not sure about the effectiveness as I have just started feeding and bug season isn't in full swing. They picked around it at first, so I started with tiny amounts and mixed it in with their Senior feed and supplements. Now they clean it up. It is very messy to use. I don't notice any bad smell."

"From my experience this product really works. I have 2 horses on the same pasture and one is constantly covered in bites and ticks. I started my mare on this product and within 3 days there were no more ticks or bites on her. I used up the bucket and decided not to replace it. My mistake! My mare had ticks and spider bites on her again. As soon as she was back on Inside Out, no more ticks and bites. It doesn't seem to make a difference in flies, but it will stop the ticks and biting insects.

It's not pleasant looking like pellets and powders, but, I don't find it hard to feed. It's easy to scoop out using a metal tablespoon, and add to her grain.

"Think of this product as a tub of dark granulized taffy mixed with hay. Now try to think of an easy way to cut it up to add to grain -- giving each horse a 1/4 cup. Its a mess. Even if you get it into the horses grain (rather than thrown around the feed room), they don't like it.. And I have horses that usually eat anything I put in front of them...

I'm giving each horse a tiny bit and will "keep adding" until I get to up to approximately 1/4 cup.

Given all the work, I haven't noticed a reduction in the flys and no-see-ums. Maybe it'll come, but it sure is a ton of work and mess...

"We were using the Garlic +C and it was working just fine but the horses smelled a bit from Garlic and they didn't love the taste. I changed to Inside Out WHAT A MISTAKE. They eat it more readily yes, but it is very difficult to use, its messy and dirty. I have noticed that it does not work one bit on any of my 4 horses. I am changing back to the Garlic +C they may have smelled from Garlic but they also had no flys on them."

"Since this product does not come in SmartPaks any more, I make individual servings in air-proof plastic bags about once a week to make it easy for the feeding crew. Works best for no-see-ums and other nuisance bugs around the ears and belly."

"My horse suffers from large welts due to biting incects. This really seemed to make a difference. He had less welts and didn't seem so misrable. The only thing I would change is how messy it is to feed."

"This product smells horrible and is very messy. I didn't see any significant change in the amount of insects on my horse. However, my horse loved the taste and picked it out of the grain to eat first. Lol. I'm going to stick with good 'ol flyspray."

Insect repellant July 22, 2004

"I bought my horse in April and by May noticed that his belly was COVERED with insect bites. We were spraying him 3-5 times a day, using a spot-on, sheets - anything we could think of. Three weeks after starting him on Inside Out we noticed he no longer had those nasty bite marks everywhere. Inside Out worked when nothing else did."
