After my horse's lead shank was stolen, I neededa new one. After shopping around, I decided on this one from SmartPak. The chain is long enough to allow for various adjustments, and the nylon is generous in length.

The chain on the lead snapped at its midpoint after one week of use. I ordered another one and that one lasted a few weeks before the chain broke. On the upside, the web portion of the lead is very sturdy and well constructed, but with a cheap and flimsy chain, this lead is not a good buy.

The Hamilton Lead rope with chain is of good quality at a good price. I really like the length of the chain. The associate I spoke with on the phone was very helpful in finding a replacement lead rope for me.

Purchased for the barn and to use on horses. Nice lead rope. Brass chain can be heavy but it is perfect for sliding over the nose if necessary.
