"I've only had this helmet for a few weeks and I've been super careful with it so I can't speak to the durability. But It's a very comfortable helmet that looks similar to the much more expensive CO's. I wish it didn't have the silver metal IRH logo on the front, maybe if it were black or less obvious, but otherwise, I'm pleased with it."

"I have had this helmet for two years and recently ordered a replacement. This helmet held up beautifully for schooling and showing and I was so sad when I noticed the back of the helmet made a cracking noise when I pressed on it. I would have been happy to keep the new XR9 I ordered but the sizing has changed and the helmet no longer fits me. The helmet is lightweight and looks great. I think it's a better helmet than the Charles Owen helmets in this price range - I ordered the JR8 as well and had a really hard time getting my hair to look nice from the back in the JR8 as the harness doesn't provide as much covereage as the XR9."

"I really love this helmet. It does not have as much padding as the Charles Owen but its a really nice helmet for the price that you pay. The sizing is a little off. I am a 6 7/8 in CO and a 6 3/4 on this helmet. Its very comfy though and did fit me really well. Looking forward to doing my IHSA competition with this and using it for a long time!"

"I recently purchased this helmet as a new show helmet. I love it! It looks very similar to the Charles Owen GR8 but at half the price. It is comfortable and runs a tiny bit large but came with inserts so it's fixable. Overall it's a great helmet and I would definitely recommend it!"

"I got this helmet about a month ago to use as my show helmet. So far I love it! It looks great and fits nice too, except for the fact that it's a tiny bit big, although I have foam inserts that came with it so I think putting on of them in will solve that issue. I also loved the fact that it was so similar to the Charles Owens GR8 helmet... at half the price! Overall it's a very nice helmet and I would definitely recommend it to a friend."

"I have only wore this a handful a times, but it seems relatively comfortable. It fits alright, but it's hard to find a perfect fit. I would recommend that you watch the "how to properly fit a helmet" first (measure in cms) purchase the size above and below the measurement. I had a hard time getting the right fit, but I did not agree with the other reviews about these helmets running small."

"I'd owned one of these good looking, tough helmets before and so was willing to wait until it was back in stock. However, this time around it seems loose and ended up sitting down on my head so that the top of my head was touching. Not sure if a 7 instead of my old faithful 7 1/8 size would do, but I am returning it."

"I love the look of the CO GR8, but didn't love the price tag. I got this helmet a couple of Christmas's ago from SmartPak. This helmet fits great, and is really comfortable. It looks good too.
My only complaint is that the chin strap buckle is not as pictured. It's a black plastic snap type buckle. I was disappointed when I saw this, but kept the helmet anyways because it fit well & other than the cheap-looking buckle, looked good.
Great helmet for the price!"

"I order a 7 1/8 and the helmet was too big, although it's the exact same size as my previous IRH helmet and it is what the sizing chart recommended. I returned it and ordered a size 7 and it feels exactly the same is still too large. I will be returning the second helmet"

"I love the look and the feel of this helmet--really light-weight! I wonder if I should have tried a 6 7/8 instead of a 7 (7, long oval is my usual size)? Perhaps I didn't take into account my (very fine) hair being in a ponytail for schooling, instead of under my hat? I would think that if you are sort of in between sizes, you may want to consider going down a size."

"I own the same helmet for over a year and like it a lot so I ordered one for my husband, with the biggest size since he has big head. But he still can not insert his head into it, coz the helmet is narrower than the distance between his ears. His LAS tierra 7 1/2 helmet fits him ok though. Didn't expect IRH 7 1/2 runs narrower. Now I want to give IRH ATH a try coz it has long oval option which might mean the non long oval option is rounder than XR9. I hope so..."
