"I love this bit for horses that either regularly need only a French-link or that are coming back down from a more severe bit. My horse was ridden in one of these for years before I purchased him, and he was a fan of it. Doesn't hurt the horse's mouth if you use it right (remember, even the lightest snaffle can be abusive if used wrong), and it's not too strong that they brace against it or bite down. Overall, great bit for the money and great for certain horses."

"just the extra control i needed for my OTTB over fences. She's great in a plain Dee on the flat, but a bit forward over fences. This bit gives us the control we need and still the beautiful finished hunter look of the Dee ring. :) highly recommend."

"My gelding usually goes in a Myler D-ring, but I use this bit in the winter for jump schools and on days when he's feeling particularly frisky. I like to use a slow twist on a horse that needs a little something more to reinforce half halts so they won't run through my hands or ignore the half halt. My horse has a tendency to curl up with curb action, and he can get wild in the winter until the jumps go up to back him off. The slow twist works really well to get him to listen to me in between the jumps and balance, instead of galloping around like a giraffe like he would prefer. I always recommend this bit to someone whose horse normally goes in a plain (or on the plain-side) D, that needs a little something extra. Korsteel bits are a great value too!"

"I purchased this bit as a correction bit for when my Paint gelding gets heavy and lazy. I like it for the occasional ride. The rings are very large and kind of thin, and they stick out a little bit instead of lying flat against his head. I wouldn't want to show in this bit, but it works great for the occasional schooling ride."

"My new Draft X was somewhat reticent about going from a western bit to an English bit, but this is the one that finally worked. He no longer rears his head at the halt and responds nicely to fine movement."

"I bought this bit for my Morgan gelding who had been getting strong. He needed less then a pelham, but more then a regular loose ring snaffle. He absolutely loves this bit! It is harsher, with the slow twist and all, but it's perfect if you need a little more 'bite' while schooling. As with all bits, it may not be perfect for your horse, but try it out! As always with SmartPak, you can't beat the price. $28 is a steal for this nice looking, quality oozing, bit."
