"The first time on out of the box, they felt a bit snug, but after wearing them around doing various barn chores and riding, they felt comfortable on my feet. I am 5'4 and of slender to average build, I had no problem with the fit in the calf. I also didn't encounter other reviewer's problems of the top back of the boot being too tall and cutting into my leg.
They were no more unbearable in the 100 degree heat than my leather boots, although I did notice that they breathed less, and my feet seemed sweatier at the end of the day.
The boots and lining are very comfortable, and thick enough that I don't think my feet will freeze come winter, like with some uninsulated rubber boots.
Most of all, I absolutely love the ability to trudge across a swampy field, or take the horses swimming in the river and stay completely dry. Of course, hosing them down to clean them off is a great perk too.
I would reccommend these boots to anyone asked, and possibly some who didn't."

"The instructor prefers leather boots, but my wallet prefers these. My friend who owned horses and rode all her life used this type of boot for lessons and day to day use. Easy clean up and when my daughter's feet grow overnight it won't break the bank to get new ones. I don't know how they wear yet. The fit is loose on an adolescent leg."

"I ordered these boots to use in the paddock & for riding. I wouldn't recommend riding in these boots. I'm 5'4" and the backs of the boots cut into the back of my knees. I LOVE them for the paddock! Completely waterproof up to your knees, with all the rain this summer, they worked out awesome! Just hose them off and you're done!"

"The quality, value & durability of this boot are as it says in the description, without question. The only thing I can find fault with is the length of the boot leg. I'm average height (5'4") & the top of the boot pushes into the backs of my knees. I'm glad I read the reviews about the size difference, that helped a great deal. I wear an 8- 8-1/2, so I ordered a 9. Fits perfect. Be sure to wear with socks, otherwise you'll never get your feet out again! =)"

"I love these boots. I have had a pair of these for years and I'm about to order another pair today. They are super durable and you really can't tell they aren't leather unless you look at them a few inch's away so they look great and fit snug. They feel incredible to ride in as well and are great in the mud! The only draw back is that I always take a size smaller in boots so I can't seem to get into a size 8 (I'm 9 but in boots I take aa 8.5) so I have to go to the size 9 and that makes them a little roomy. But other than that I love these!"

"If you're petite or a kid, the Dublin boots would probably work great for you. Mine arrived and I tried them on, the fit was great in the foot, and the quality was high. My being on the taller side (5 ft. 6-1/2 inches), the only drawback was the boots were too short for my calves, and didn't go all the way up to my knees, so I had to send the boots back. But for shorter folks or for kids, I'd recommend these boots."

"narrow calf and wide somewhat long foot area
foot doesn't perspire, but around calf does slightly because they are snug which makes it really hard to remove them. I am petite with normal size calves.
I don't ride, but I do recommend them for getting through snow and mud though.

"I purchased these boots for my young grandaughter. She is tall & very thin, so the narrow calves were good for her & the advice from other reviews to get the next size up was very helpful. They fit perfectly! I was delighted with the quality - you really can't tell they are not leather."

"I had a pair of these boots when i was a kid and thought the world of them. They are great for dual wear as muck boots and riding boots. I especially like them for trail riding because they are mud proof & water proof for all kinds of conditions.
However, i have pretty large calves and these boots did NOT FIT AT ALL. They are advertized as a 'wide' calf boot at 16". I measured my calf before AND after i received the boots to see if i messed up my measurements, and my calf measured at 15.5" and I couldn't even pull these boots on to my leg at all.
If you have tiny skinny legs, these will be perfect, but if you have athletic or big legs, don't bother. I'm very althetic, but i'm also only 5' tall and 120lbs and these didn't fit me."

"I love these boots for the mud and I ride in them. They are comfortable and look like new when you wash them off. This is actually my second pair as they run small. The size 9 fits but doesn't allow me to wear heavy socks so I wear them when the weather is warmer. I ordered a size 10 this time so I can wear insulated socks for the cold weather and they work perfectly. The price is so good that I didn't mind buying a second pair."

"I was excited when I received my boots; however that excitement quickly dissipated when I put the boots on. I normally wear a size 11 narrow, and I struggled to get the size 11 wide boots on. Once on, the shaft of the boots was so snug on my legs, and I have thin legs. No way could someone with larger legs or even a normal size calf get these boots on. While they are extremely stylish and a relatively good price, the sizing is just not realistic. I have never had to purchase larger size footwear that still did not work. Sorry. I would not recommend to a friend because all my friends have larger legs than me."

"Nice boots but the fit was not the greatest especially around the calves. Overall, the boots were too small, too tight. I'm petite and most things are just too big but in this case, I couldn't even get the boot on. If I went to a bigger size then the foot part would end up being too big."

"This is actually my second purchase of these boots and were bought as a gift for a friend's birthday. I rarely find a shoe that fits my EEE width monster foot and wide calves. To find a riding boot that is synthetic, warm (but not sweaty in the summer), inexpensive, and fits seemed too good to be true. But it is true. While I am not a fine connoisseur of English riding boots (either leather or synthetic), a friend who I was riding with last weekend told me that her more expensive, three-digit, synthetic riding boots were not worth it; she does not like hers. She prefers the Dublins. These boots are perfect for someone starting out and can take a rider beyond beginning stages of riding. They are excellent on trail if you are dismounting and getting dirty; they clean up so easily. They also serve as a great field boot. I highly recommend the Dublin Universal Tall Boot."

"This is really a great pasture boot, for kids. It is definately not for Ladies. I Normaly wear a size 8 Wide and that's what I ordered, I couldn't even make it half into the shaft, and trust me i'm not that big. The foot was also way too small, so if you order them, make sure you have very tiny calves and add 1 size. I tryed to reorder in extra wide but they don't carry it. Thanks Lynda"
