"I bought this product because it was a good price for a lot of different pieces and I didn't have any of them to start. I'm not using the rubber hole plugs, and I think I will give the set screws a try (right now I'm testing shredded cotton balls). Used a mix of road and grass studs to get my horse used to the feel of studs because he's never worn them before, and he took to them very well and became much more confident going downhill. Overall, the kit did what I needed it to do, so I'm very happy with it!"

"I like this kit a lot, but a big safety no- no with the T Tap. It's very dangerous if your horse is a little impatient or isn't great with his feet. I was told to get a Safety Spin by Nunn Finer and I'm glad I did!! It practically saved me, and my horse. My first application of studs, while using the Safety Spin she stomped her foot down. I was so thankful i listened to my gut and went with safety first. Other than that, handy little kit that's easy to keep things up with!"
"The Roma Stud Kit is a great value to get you started with studs. The two types of studs that are included are very versatile for most conditions. It's nice that it has the tee tap and brush, although I really prefer a safety tap because my horse loves putting his foot down at just the wrong times. Also, the metal brush part of the hold cleaner comes loose very easily."
"Great kit with nice case. Wish the crank had slightly smaller hole as it gets tough to work as studs wear down. Would also like to be able to buy replacement rubber blanks."

"This is a good start to studs, though I found the quality of the tools lacking. Given that you can buy the studs themselves for under $2.00, that was a bit of a bummer. However, the plugs are useful, the two "main" studs are covered in a small size, and there's a little case. Having purchased more studs since, I've outgrown the case-size, but it was a useful start. T-tap useless in this case...does not fit the studs. Stud hole cleaner okay, but bending a bit already. Moral of the story is, you get 16 useful studs, some good plugs, a holder, and that's a good start!"
