I purchased this along with new Antares stirrup leathers. I had purchased an Antares saddle used and I needed to match the leathers. The oil darkens the leather beautifully. I definitely recommend using a sponge and applying a decent amount. I initially only applied thin coats and ended up doing 5-6 rounds to get the right color.

I just put my first application on my new antares bridle it is a really nice light oil that slightly darkened the bridle without a drastic color difference which I like so that I can get a more exact match to my other tack.

So i bought this because i just got a leather Antares breastplate and i wanted to take excellent care of my new pretty leather. The oil is light and not sticky like neatsfoot oil BUT it doesn't really darken or make the leather any softer even after several applications. Its a VERY SMALL container for the price!!! I used Hyrdophane leather dressing and it made a world of difference, it finally matches my tack after 3 applications. I would NEVER buy this again, even though "Antares recommends it".

You won't be disappointed. Nothing is worse than having your tack crack, dry out or lose color. I'm a firm believer that most of that can be prevented with a great pre-treatment with Antares Leather Oil. I don't hesitate to really let it soak in on the first go around, and it means the tack stays soft and supple forever. Even lends a helping hand to poorer quality leather.

The oil works well, but not any better than other brands, so I feel it is too pricey for what you're getting. Neatsfoot oil works just as well and is lots cheaper.

I wanted to use this product because i bought the bridle. I like it, I think it is priced a little high for the amount you get. I will reorder when I need more.

i purchased an expensive saddle and the saddle rep suggested the antares oil to soften up the new leather. it worked great. i still use it every once in a while to keep my tack soft and supple. it has lasted a long time as well.

This oil is wonderful. It darkens and softens leather used for the first time or on annual applications. The best oil out there.

I have used a lot of products in the past for the maintenance and suppling of leather and Antares Oil darkens up all Leathers (not just Antares) beautifully. I used this product on a very cheap bridle I got for schooling and you can barely tell the price point of the bridle was below $40.

I purchased a bottle of this when I purchased my custom Antares Saddle. I used it then for the initial oilings on the saddle before I rode in it. I have used it since for the first oilings on many of my pieces of new leather equipment. It also works well as an oil for periodic maintenance of already broken in leather. It's an excellent alternative to Neatsfoot Oil.
