"I purchased this halter for use for my chronic biter. Within minutes he was figuring out on his own that biting is not in his best interest. We have done everything to try to control his biting and nothing worked until now. What makes this halter work for us is that Ranger bites then jerks his head away so he won't get into trouble. After the 2nd attempt bite and he jerked his head away the halter came into play."

"Did I get a lemon? The rubber is so stiff -- I was never able to get it to stretch one bit! So the chain part never came into play. Also, the quick-links rusted.
After a couple of months the rubber broke -- the hole where it attaches to the halter ripped through. So the rubber ripped before it ever stretched."

"Halter working well on my pushy boy. Really beats using a stud chain, but I think a couple of features need a little tweaking. Crown piece needs buckles on both sides to better center the cabled section. The fasteners that attach chain and rubber (?) nose pieces to halter need to be better quality. On my halter they have come unscrewed a couple times, so I have to check them every time I use the halter."

"I love it! Tired of the stud chains getting tanged up....then this Blocker Control Halter is the best. My mule is spoiled, and when he decided he wants to check something else out..he does! He "would" yank away from me. Not anymore! I hated the stud chains, seems like they always were getting in my way when leading mule."
"After surgery I needed something to make sure my gelding wouldn't invade my space and injure my right side. Initially, I was worried that this might be too harsh but it provides correction as needed and the chain can be used or ignored."

"I've been meaning to write this review for a while now since it didn't take very long after purchasing it to run into problems. Overall, the design is a great concept and I thought it worked wonderfully to give me that extra control over my new, in-your-face gelding. It got his attention without being extreme and gave instant release. However, after a couple of rainy days in a row (right after purchasing), it became clear that the metal clips that attach the rubber and chain nosebands to the rest of the halter are not stainless steel. I was shocked and dismayed at how much rust they accrued in just a couple of days. When I looked into replacing the clips with new, stainless steel ones at a hardware store, it was rather expensive (~$12) when you add that on top of what I already paid for the halter. Bottom line, the design is nice but the materials are not what I expect from a $40 nylon halter."

"This halter is the one I choose when it's time to trailer, go to the vet, etc. My mule responds to it much better than any of her other halters, and when she forgets her manners, it helps me remind her!"

"i have a 2 year old, oldenburg (recently gelded!!)i bought this for him as a yearling. i dont like stud chains...espically on the young guys. so i bought this and it works great!!! just enough control for my guy. he is already 16.2 so a little help does me good with him. he is the most gentle and level headed HORSE (not YOUNG horse) i ha ve ever worked with so this little help is not really necessary but it is there if i need it..and not if i dont."
