"This girth cover is really well made. It has a high quality appearance and the quilted exterior is well made. I have been using it daily for several weeks and it is holding up beautifully. It looks nice enough to show in and the horse is not experiencing any rubs at all. The fleece is thick and luxurious. In fact, the horse has stopped clicking her teeth when I tighten the girth! Nice! This cover fit my girth perfectly and stays in place too. There is an inner velcro strap that can be used to hold the girth inside the cover but you may not need it. It seems very secure. I wish I had bought it sooner!"

"This is a great cover. I have a stallion who is typically very girthy, and since I have been using this cover he has been much happier about the girthing process. Only negative is that the ends twist backwards during work, making it look a bit messy. I have used some of the extra velcro to attach the very ends of this cover to the girth in addition to the flaps and it fixed the problem right away. Does not make the horse sweat either!"

"I bought this in the winter, when my horse had a full body clip - loved it!!! As the season changed, I washed it before my first show & the color faded some. By mid summer, a lot of the color had come off & the black had turned to blue in several areas. They said it was due to a reaction with the acidity in some horse's sweat. I still use the cover, but not for shows. For $100 bucks, I wish the color would have held."

"I have an Amerigo dressage girth. This girth cover did not adequately attach to the Amerigo girth and the ends of the cover twisted after walking about 100 feet and did not provide any protection. I have since learned that Mattes makes a shaped girth cover especially for the Amerigo girth and am trying to track one down."

"This is a great girth cover! It fits wonderfully to a dressage girth with the Velcro flans that allow for adjustment for the different size girths. The Mattes sheepskin is so soft and comfortable. My horse has stopped pinning her ears when I put the girth on. This is a fantastic addition to my riding equipment. It does not create extra heat during heavy training."
