"I have to say I was skeptical about the potential quality considering the low price. They are soft as butter, comfortable in my hands with the first two rides. Too early to tell how long they hold up, but I suspect they will."

"First off, let me say these are very nice reins. I've often gotten compliments on how supple they are. They were ready to use immediately when I bought them last summer, which was nice. (Especially since the darned laced reins on my cheap Gatsby hunter bridle STILL won't soften, but that's another story) And they are very kind on my sensitive hands, even when my GRP decides to be a little pony brat and lean on my hands. I even have occasionally been tempted to ride without gloves while using these reins.
The downsides to these, however, are as follows:
1)The dye leaches out of the UNFINISHED backside of these while cleaning, and I'd hate to see what they'd do to my hands if I rode without gloves in the SoCal summer
2)I haven't used these a lot, and I don't ride very much/very hard, but they are already showing stress marks about halfway in the middle of both reins
3) It would be nice if these came in "pony" length-- my boy doesn't have much neck, and sometimes these wind up stuck under the saddle pad or something.
Whether I would buy them again is debatable. For what you pay, you could get KL Select's Calfskin lined reins. Which is what I'd like to try..."

"I have owned an Anky saddle in the past and was very pleased with the quality and workmanship so it just stood to reason that I should try the reins. They are wonderful to feel and the more you use them the more comfortable they become in your hands. The leather in these reins is high quality and they complete the look of quality very nicely."

Anky reins with stops

April 13, 2008
ByVictoria

"I purchased the Anky bridle a couple of months ago and immediately noticed that the reins were soft and elastic, yet firm. The only reason why I'm buying another pair is because our "neighbor" horse chewed right through them! I would definitely recommend these since they are the best reins I have used so far."
