"I use APF or APF Pro to help my older mare with PPID (Cushings) and Insulin Resistance. She is definitely perkier when on the APF or APF Pro. Her insulin levels tend to be lower when on it as well. Her usual dose is 4-6 ml/daily. Once when I was going out of town and there was a new horse coming to the farm while I was gone, I had my pony sitter increase the APF to 10ml daily hoping to combat any stress associated with the change in routine. When I returned from my trip I found my mare (then 24) acting like a 2 year old...running, bucking and even rearing at the gate if she thought I was not getting her in quickly enough! Made a believer out of me, although I went back to our usual smaller dose!! I will switch to the APF Pro when she is not doing as well or I am having a harder time getting her symptoms under control."

"Smells and tastes wretched. (Put a drop on your own tongue!!! Yikes!) Had to resort to sneaky tricks and syringing to get it in the horse. After a few months of use, it did not improve her insulin resistance, even though she was also on a very strict low-starch diet. Tried with my other insulin resistant horse with exactly the same results - nothing! Total waste of money. Spend your money on SmartControl IR instead!"

"After visiting with your professional advisor line...(terrric service--super helpful!) we decided to switch from the protocol current on my Insulin Resistant 9 year old Arabian mare, to the APF pro and SmartPak IR. For the last two years she's had a bout of founder, despite our efforts with other treatments. I was concerned about the measurability of the APF, but the rep got a bottle and tested the accuracy of the dosage tube and ease of use for me, right on the phone! And after using it for the second week, I have found the tube doses just as she said...no waste of a pricey product! And, she didn't seem to notice it was added to her beet pulp, so it gets a plus on palatibility! So here's hoping that this will do the trick..(p.s. she's on dry lot, grass hay, no grain, and wears a grazing muzzle when pasture season begins) I'll keep you posted on how it's going!"

"My Insulin Resistant horse had an abscess and mild laminitis. I am also giving other supplements but figured this couldn't hurt. We are also using acupuncture and other treatments under a vet's care and he is moving well and seems fine after a short amount of time, but of course will have more time off from work. I will continue to give this product for awhile as part of a program, but it is impossible to tell what is helping the most since we are doing a number of things. Was impressed by Horse Journal's favorable opinion of product."

"I have a mare who is HYPP N(H). She normally is asymptomatic and I was concerned that her daily training routine was becoming intense, so to reduce her stress level I tried the APF Pro. I also spoke directly with the creator of APF Pro at Auburn Labs and he (a DVM) was very helpful in explaining how this product will help a horse with HYPP. I could not be happier with the product and I do highly recommend it to any horse owner. It has certianly been a source of comfort for me as well knowing that I am providing the best care for my horse. Thank you Auburn Labs and SmartPak. Peek-a-Boo could not be any better!"
