"Purchased these with my lunge line. Since I am new to horses and tack, my trainer told me I need "side reins". There is no instruction and I haven't figured out how to use them yet."

"It took my trainer and I a while to figure out the best way to attach and adjust these, but once we worked out a system, they work fine. The swivel snaps do mean that the side reins can twist and the d-rings can end up on the inside. But the variability of adjustment is good, and they are easy to tighten during a lunging session. They have been durable enough for use on my almost 17-hand TB, and he can get quite silly on the lunge line."

"I have a horrible time trying to find side reins that are short enough to fit my horse. These ones will just have to be close enough as I am sick of trying and returning. I love that they are so quick to put on! They will be duable."

"I'm going to be a riding master student at Meredith Manor and needed to purchase a pair of side reins and I went around looking at the variety of side reins on the market before purchasing these. Others would either be reveiwed as 'too short' or flimsy and these seemed to be a good choice from customer reviews. Having never lunged horses before myself I'm not quite sure how to use them yet, but they're very strong side reins that should work just fine :)"

"They are a little hard to figure out exact placement for proper useage, because no instructions are included. One of my horses, a lively thoroughbred, seems to really like them, in there give and take; atleast so-far."

"Great side reins! Easy to attach and adjust. I loop them through the billet straps or to the d ring on the saddle, depending on the training."

"These side reins fit my long, 16h horse just fine. The extra snaps make longing quick and more seamless."
"I am not a huge fan of these side reins, but they do the job. They are an ok length for my 15hh appy but they just seem odd. I would not purchase them again, but I will use them until they need replacing."

"I got these side reins to replace my old ones that were adjusted with a buckle rather than snap on clips at both ends. The new ones are really fast and easy to adjust. They also have a sliding clip that attaches to the bit. I love them!"

"My big spunky boy has not managed to break or damage these things yet despite his numerous attempts while being lunged as a youngster. He’s 17+ hands and robust and these fit him just fine. The clips are really great and make them a quick on and off product."

"Very good quality and value. The product works wonderfully and I do like all the clips instead of buckles. Makes for easy setup when lounging your horse. I don't care for the clips at the saddle end, as I clip the reins lower and have to attach them to the girth where I don't have D rings readily avaiable, but they do hook to the saddle buckles nicely."

"Over the years I've had many sets of side reins, overall these, from smartpak have been the best! I buy the horse sized ones, but I can use them on my small hunter ponys too! I've never had that before and I love it! Very durable! A++++"

"Unlike all the other pony sized side reins, they are not for miniatures and they are not for small horses. Instead, they are perfectly pony sized! Fits my 14hh with a bit of room to go bigger, fits the 12.3hh with a bit of room to go smaller."

"I can adjust and set this up super fast. I would like to be able to make it a bit shorter. I have a full size horse but she is pretty compact. I typically use it on the last rung."
