Fox River VVS® Sock
Fox River Mills is an innovative company that SmartPak is proud to be working with. Fox River is extremely committed to the environment (just like SmartPak!) and they make fabulous product that they stand behind 100%. We first heard of Fox River Mills on the ski slopes about 5 years ago on one of our famous company ski trips. We all loved the socks so much we started riding in them as well and our feet haven't been happier!

Love these socks! Wore them for 12 hours today, under both riding boots and then paddock boots, feet were nice and dry at end of day. No seams to rub, the combination of wool and silk is wonderful, and the Spandex gives a great fit. No need to air dry -- I washed mine with my breeches and dried at low temp with them also. They didn't shrink!

I first bought these socks in a ski shop but now purchase them through smart pak. Very comfortable and warm! It is worth the price. Wash in cold water and hang dry so they don't shrink. They are stretchy enough and thin enough that your boots will fit easily over them. Pair them with toe warmers and you will definitely not suffer from cold feet.

I bought these for my daughter for Christmas. She tells me they are very nice winter socks. They are thick but not bulky. They will keep her feet warm and dry. They will fit a 17in. calf and still keep their shape.

Love that these are made in the USA. Warm and soft. Wash well. A little long in the leg, but I'm used to having to cuff knee highs, as I have really short legs. The cushioned shin has saved me a lot of bruises from bumping buckets!

These socks are pricey but the ski shop in my area charges the same. They are definitely comfortable and warm. I hang them to dry after washing in cold water and the sizing does not change. They do need to be mended after a season of wearing them but then they are good to go for another year. I am glad to see SmartPak is carrying them so I don't have to make a trip to the ski shop.

Great winter riding socks. They keep my feet warm, but they aren't so bulky that they affect how my boots fit. I have only had these for a week, but they held up well in their first washing. They seem durable and well-made. I will be ordering another pair of the medium weight ones so that I don't have to keep washing after every ride.

These socks are fantastic! I never would have thought that a simple pair of socks could make such a difference but they absolutely do. My tall boots fit pretty snug so I have to be careful about the thickness of my breeches and socks so it worried me when I opened the box and examined the socks. They are substantial and not thin like so many other boot socks out there which do concern me but to my surprise these socks are great at compressing and smoothing my calf. My boots actually fit much better with these on! Without these socks my calf measures between 16 3/4"-17" but when wearing them my calf measures about 16"! Oh and I'm notorious for rubbing holes in my socks especailly in riding boots but these thing are tough and look brand new even after spending hours daily in tall boots and muck boots. Also the specail contouring for left and right feet makes the fit extra comfy! LOVE these things, want more!

I put these on the minute after opening the box and heard myself sigh...ahhhh! They are amazingly comfy and fit very well! When on they provide a nice bit of compression which allows your tall boots to just glide on; very nice I might add. Also the compression gives some support to the leg, ankle, and foot. I bought the mid weight which is sturdy and has some substance but is not too thick or too warm. They felt great in my tall boots and due to the thickness provided a bit of prtection against the parts of my botts that still rub! Have not tried them riding yet but I feel they will be just as nice. If all goes well riding I will be sure to get a few more pairs and the heavy weight too! Bottom line this was a fantastic purchase!

I bought a couple pairs of these at the natick store on a sale- they are now my favorite socks and I have no problem paying full price. They are extremely warm, heavy enough to be cozy warm but light enough that you can still zip up your boots. I wear these all winter long both to the barn and under dress boots to work(shhh, don't tell)- my feet get cold very easily and I love these. They hold up great to- my oldest pair is 2 years old and you wouldn't know it.

Best socks ever! Very warm and soft, like a hug for your feet. Wish the price was lower but have been budgeting for more. We haven't had record lows yet but I'm not worried, my feet will stay nice and warm with these!

I have terrible blood circulation in my hands and feet, but more so in my feet. When it gets cold out I have to wear many pairs of socks and insulated boots to have the ability to feel my toes. I tried the Smartwool socks from a local ski place but they didn't stay warm, in fact they are worthless...I read about these and as they were cheaper than the ones I had tried decided to try them...
Just buy them, get a pair in mid and heavyweight, you will not be disappointed. I have never beed able to go out in freezing rain for over 30 mins without losing feeling in my toes, not only could I feel them, but I could ride and still feel them...Great socks, will order more pairs!

Just like SmartPak I found these socks for the purpose of skiing... I have had them for years and haven't been able to find them again. I was THRILLED when I saw that SmartPak was carrying them. Unlike some, I hate the super thin tall boot socks. I need something with a little bit more substance - the Fox River socks are perfect! They are nice and tall, they don't slouch and the material is divine. Everyone should own a pair (or dozen) of these!
