"My horses live out 24/7 with stall access and their primary water source is a 150 gallon stock tank. In past winters, I've used a sinking deicer in the tank. The tank would frequently freeze and the horses refused to drink from it with the deicer in. This year I purchased the drain plug deicer and I am SO glad I did! My horses drink happily with this in so I'm not having to fill small heated buckets constantly. We've already had some very cold days this winter and the deicer has kept the tank ice-free.

Installation was a little difficult at first; I couldn't screw the plastic washer onto the drain plug assembly for the life of me. Once I sprayed the threads with WD-40 I was able to screw the plastic washer on easily."

"We have purchased other De-Icers & this one is number one! At first it leaked a tiny bit, but we tightened it up a tad & it is perfect! I really like that it is thermostatically controlled so that we don't waste electricty! I would highly recommend this De-Icer!"

"We use a 100 gallon tub to water the horses, and have had the same heating unit in it for five years. I had one before that, but damaged the seal it when we moved. Now I leave it in summer and winter, just unplugging it when the weather warms up."
