"love all happy mouth bits but anxious horses can chew them up after the first ride which is awful considering the cost. i use them on every horse i train and will keep them in one as long as they respect them (as in stopping). so many riders have bad hands and these bits mitigate negative effects on the horses mouths making everyone happier hence the truism "happy mouth"!"

"This is a nice quality bit. I switched from a happy mouth loose ring mullen mouth to this bit and am happy with the results. My horse is very mouthy, smart, and can have a hard time paying attention, so I have a whole arsenal of bits and this is definitely a good one to have around.
I saw some complaints about it pinching the corners of the mouth - I got a 5.5", he usually wears a 5.5", and this is plenty big with no pinching."

"I bought a horse that was 11 yrs old with a very hard mouth, and I have been working with him and getting him to accept bit pressure and not until now does he actually accept the bit. I have used all types of snaffles trying to get him to accept the bit and he seems to really like this bit. He is not evading the pressure from it and seems much more relaxed. This is the only bit I will use from now on. The plastic over the bit seems to be much easier on his mouth also. Great purchase!"

"My mare needs a full cheek and I like the French-link type snaffle, so gave this a try. She seems happy with it. The apple scent is a funny thing, I think for us not them. But she did give it a thorough sniff before first use!"

"I spent years fighting with my mare. She fought every bit that I have used till this one. She is so quiet and willing now. Although she does still occasionally get irritated, she is a 100 times with this bit. A Happy Mouth will stay in my bit collection. Wish I would have tried one years ago."

"This bit pinched my horse's mouth. I suggest using a bit guard with this. I returned the bit anyways as I don't want to bother with a bit guard. Also, I have heard about the plastic becoming sharp as the horse chews on the bit. If your horse is a constant chewer like mine, I would not recommend this."

"This bit is great for horses of all levels! I've bought the same one as my horse grew out of her old ones, and she's still working very well. We're actually ready to go up yet another size. My horse is still pretty green, and I love how if I accidentally catch her in the mouth (of course, I always try my best not to, but we have those awkward moments) it's not as uncomfortable for her. It's also one of the mildest bist I could find that wasn't a mullen mouth, and it's perfect for my horse ebcause of her sensitive mouth. It's easily chewed and yellows after awhile, but that's expected with the material."

"I can't believe how much my horse loves this bit. On his old standard full cheek snaffle, he used to chomp and play with the bit all the time, especially if he was standing still. He doesn't do any of that with his new Happy Mouth bit. I expected that he would, at least until he got used to the feel of something different. This was not the case. He loved this bit from second one!"
