"Recently bought and moved to a property where no fly/manure management was in place. My poor horses were wearing fly masks I hadnt had on them in years (old place used fly predators to keep flys down), so until I could get everything under control put all my horses on smart bugoff. The stuff was great, even has some omegas in there which made me happy because to keep costs down took the horses I had on the smart omega off to add this product. Between this product and getting my fly predators started, I cut the flies down to almost nothing compared to what we had when we moved in. Even my picky eaters had no problems eating it and honestly I could tell the difference. Place also had tick issues, and considering the first few months WE couldnt go outside without getting one or two on our clothing, that I only found one on my mare since we moved was amazing and I know it wasnt just the sulfer block I put out."

"About two years ago, I put all five of my horses on the Smart Bug-Off for an entire summer. I'm sorry to say that I noticed absolutely no difference in the amount of flies around the horses. Every single day, the horse manure is cleaned out of the paddocks and the run-ins, so we practice good manure management. What I have found that works better are the fly predators. I only had to fly spray the horses a few times last year (the exception being that I would spray before we went for a ride). While the predators aren't perfect, they definitely helped at my farm."
"My mare is very picky and would not eat other "bug" "fly" products. She loves Smart Bug-Off as well as all of her other supplements from SmarkPak. I love the convenience of the SmartPaks. Happy horse, happy owner."

"I've been using SmartBug-Off for a month now and I have seen no difference in the flies biting my horse. I have one horse on SmartBug-Off and one horse not on it. Flies are bothering & biting both horses equally. We pick up manure from the pastures at least once a day, sometimes twice a day and the fly problem still exists. We don't have a manure pile as we spread the droppings on our hay fields which are NOT adjacent to the horse pastures. I probably won't purchase SmartBug-Off again, and will continue to rely on fly spray to make my horses comfortable."

"Just added Bug-off to our other SmartPak regemin about a month ago on my 30 yr old gelding. He loves the SmartPak supplements that we give him and has no side effects from it except now the flies stay away! Very pleased with dosing packages and ease of use/application!"

"Started my boys on this nearly 6 weeks ago. It is always hard to measure prevention, but have not noticed them running from the bugs, nor are they bitten up.
The true test will come this summer, but so far so good. I am not asking for my money back anyway."

"I purchased bug-off for a mare that is very sensitive to bug bites and thought this would be a good product because it said it would be eaten by the pickiest eaters. The mare is picky and when I put these pellets with her regular vitamin rations she tasted it shook her head and left her feed. The next day she walked partway to her feed tub sniffed and left and the next day she wouldn't come near her feed till I forceably showed her there was no bug off in it. I was disappointed but thought I could give the pellets to an old mare that will eat anything placed in front of her, and she also refused. The nice thing is, I called smart pak and told them and they credited the money I had spent on the purchase back to my account which is something most companies won't do. So thank you, Smart Pak I am still a very satisfied customer!"

"After the initial undecided taste test, my "supplement picky" horse ate these pellets out of my hand. They do smell like vinegar and garlic but he doesn't mind that at all. I have been feeding SmartBug-Off for over a month and I have noticed a reduced number of flies & mosquitoes hanging around my horse. This is a great relief to my super sensitive horse. I still use fly spray and a fly mask but not as much. I was concerned that feeding this might make him smell weird but he smells just like he did before. Try it, IT WORKS!! THANKS SMARTPAK!!! :-D"

"I've used this on my two Rockies for two months. The filly is the one that is seriously bothered by bugs. She MAY be stomping her feet less. But she is still covered in welts and has to be sprayed to be ridden. Sigh. I wonder if I should have doubled her dosage..."

"Mare has been on this one month so I'm not sure it's had time to work yet. There seems to be the same amount of flies on her as on other horses not on fly control. My mare seems to like the taste of it and I like that it has omegas and msm in it. A little on the expensive side for something I'm not sure is working but I'm willing to give it another month to see if it makes a difference. Flies really seem to prefer my mare over other horses so I hope it works!"

"My horse has only been on this for about 3 weeks but I have noticed a significant decrease in the amount of flies on him. It doesn't help 100% but hes far less bothered than he has been in previous years. Something I think that is important to mention is that it really is necessary for ALL the horses at the barn to be on something for fly control if you really want this to work. If the horses around yours arent on anything, you probably wont see any difference. Another thing is the smell of this stuff. It must be the vinegar but it is strong. My horse isn't really picky and I think he actually likes it.. he'll eat it out of my hand, but I could see many other horses not willing to eat this!"

"I've only used this product about 40 days at this time. 1 horse for 40, 3 others for 12. Haven't noticed a decrease in any of the flies thus far, but I will give it 3 months to make a decision. They all eat it with no problem."
"I started dosing in February and it is April in MD. A slow spring but the flies are definitely out and I have noticed very little tail switching and stomping so far. The real test will be mid-July but my guess is the product will deliver and I am looking forward to a more bug-free summer this year."
"I have a 14yr OTTB who is almost black and the barn he was at last year they were out all the time. AND we're in South Carolina! He was miserable! I would turn him out in a fly sheet and fly mask but he would just stand at the gate and stomp. Not only were his feet a mess but he was not happy and very hot. I decided to give this a try and it seemed to help him a lot! He was not nearly as miserable as before. I took him off of it during the winter but am starting him back on it now."
"Our poor Paint PJ is so sensitive to fly, knat, mosquito and no-see-ums. He is stomping and biting at himself constantly even if our other horse King isn't. The Bug-Off product sounded perfect for him. He eats it just fine, but so far haven't noticed much of a difference. Figure it must take time to get thru his system, so the bugs will not bite."
