Recently bought and moved to a property where no fly/manure management was in place. My poor horses were wearing fly masks I hadnt had on them in years (old place used fly predators to keep flys down), so until I could get everything under control put all my horses on smart bugoff. The stuff was great, even has some omegas in there which made me happy because to keep costs down took the horses I had on the smart omega off to add this product. Between this product and getting my fly predators started, I cut the flies down to almost nothing compared to what we had when we moved in. Even my picky eaters had no problems eating it and honestly I could tell the difference. Place also had tick issues, and considering the first few months WE couldnt go outside without getting one or two on our clothing, that I only found one on my mare since we moved was amazing and I know it wasnt just the sulfer block I put out.

While my area of the country doesn't experience bugs like many other places, we do have the every day pesky flies and mosquitos. Within the first day of feeding this, I noticed an immediate difference. My horses tails became VERY quiet! Even though we have had summery weather the past week, and the warmth has brought out more bugs, my horses are all very comfortable, and have very few bug bites. Super impressed, and happy to find such an effective product.

I've had my horse on this for about a month now. It seems to me that there are less face flies bothering him and he doesn't seem as bothered as the rest of the horses in his paddock. Overall thou, I think this stuff is working & he likes it! He'll eat it all by itself, regardless if it's in his grain or not.

I added this product to my senior Mare's SmartPak as she is quite sedentary and no longer has the luxury of outrunning the pests. It does not eliminate every determined bug, but I see a noticeable decrease in the pests around her and my other two horses not using the product. I simply add these pellets to her other pelleted feed and she gobbles them up. She was not enthusiastic about eating them alone. But as a topping, no problem. The garlic may also help her autoimmune system. Bonus!

My appy/warmblood has been on SmartBugOff for 6 weeks. My boy has terrible bug allergies and so I am always looking for things to help keep the bugs off. I do think there are fewer flys on him, but he has gotten several large welts, similar to other horses on the property. I'll keep him on it for the summer. Beware this stuff is really smelly, I was surprised that he would actually eat it but he slurps it down!

I am still in the process of evaluating Smart Bug-Off. So far I am seeing just as many flies on the horses' faces that are being fed Smart Bug-Off as the horses that are not. I will keep using it through the summer before I make a final judgement as I am hoping the longer I use it, the better it will work.

I purchased this as an experiment about a month ago, and am quite pleased! I think I've only sprayed my horse with liquid fly spray right before a rain (the flies seem to swarm just before it pours rain here). Over all, I'm quite pleased. The only downside would be the smell. It's pungent, but once mixed with my horse's feed, he gobbles it down!

This is my second summer using SmartBug-off. My horse has not been surrounded by the ever pesky bugs, and even when I ride we are not covered. He also likes the taste and he can be very picky!
We purchased this about a month ago and still havent seen a difference. not sure how long to use this for before seeing a difference. not sure if i will continue with this or not.

Tasty (according to my horse) and really seems to help keep bugs off my horse. My horse is pretty sensitive to bugs and other skin issues and she hasn't needed much in the way of fly spray at all this year since a while after I started her on this supplement.

I bought this product because both of my mares were having horrible problems with horse flies in PA. They had horrible bites all in their ears from bugs and one mare would welt up on her neck from bites! No fly spray helped at all. I started feeding this to both of them and they have improved tram endlessly! I still have to put a little fly spray on but I'm so glad I found this to feed them. I gave 4 stars because although it seems to work it's smells HORRIBLE! It takes my one mare quiet a while to eat it since she is the picky one. She will leave it for an hour or so before she eats all of her grain with it in there.

Have used this product for several years. Two of my horses are highly allergic to certain bug bites and this product has brought much needed peace to their grazing hours. Works better than anything else out there, I tried them all. It seemed a little pricey at first, but its worth every cent as it keeps the Vet out of my barn.

5 year old mare used to get horrible oozing hives each spring as soon as the bugs came out. Since I have had her on Bug Off they do not reappear. She eats it out of my hand so I do not have to grain her and trick her into eating it. Well worth it for us.

I started my 7-yr. old gelding on this product mid-March and I am pleased with results--less irriatation from flies and a very shiney coat. The first 2 summers I owned Sidney, he constantly had welts on his neck and breast from fly bites. He seemed so allergic that I relied on a fly sheet to give him relief. He does seem to have outgrown some of that allergic reaction and I now just use this product and also emphasize good manure and fly management around my stable. I have also noticed that my mare, who is not on this product, has had more trouble with ticks this spring whereas Sidney has not. So I am guessing the "Bug-off" may also be helping with that. Sidney accepts the product very well. People seem to have a more negative reaction to the garlic smell--but not horses!
