I love the leather of this bridle. Butter soft and you can just tell how lovely it is. The browband and throatlatch are larger than I'd like. Even after vigorous oiling, I cannot get the leather of the crown piece and the leather attached to it to match the leather that holds the nose band and bit. This is my third bridle and the first two had the same problem, but worse...not two pieces of leather were the same color. Maybe it's because different leathers are used to make this bridle, but I have never had this happen (even with lower quality bridles) and it's disappointing. But the pros do outweigh the cons here and Smartpak was wonderful with the returning and sending me new bridles.

I purchased the Nantucket bridle a month ago, and am extremely pleased with the fit, quality and price. I will use it for showing as well as for schooling due to the great price. The color was a dark brown, and the leather is a good quality. Highly recommend this bridle!

I ordered this bridle in a pinch because a second Arc de Triomphe I had ordered for a show was on back order- this is easily as nice. It is going to be my new show bridle for as long as it holds up (which should be a long time judging by the quality of the leather and stitching). Very adjustable- fits my very refined Arab beautifully.

Great quality in general! straight out of the box, the color was great (not orange), but a tad lighter than I like which was easily fixed with oil. It takes cleaning and oil nicely. The leather is incredibly soft and the padding is great for balancing pressure. I received a lot of compliments about this bridle! Was considering the really expensive Arc de Triomphe Imperial bridle, but I'm so happy I saved some money AND got a bridle just as good!

I loved this bridle. Unfortunately, my TB has a smallish head and the horse size was too big in the brow band and throatlatch. I called Smartpak to see if they sell separate pieces, which they did not. BUT in true Smartpak fashion, they sent me out a second Cob size bridle to see if that would fit. It did fit a little better, but not perfect and I had to return both. I was sad, as I really LOVED the way this bridle looked on my horse. It just fell a little short in the fit department for my horse.

The reins are the finest I've ever used - they were soft & pliable right out of the box. The color is most definitely NOT orange but a deep, rich mahogany color. There are 3 keepers for the noseband, which needed a little stretching out, and the Monocrown means that you will have an extra buckle on the off-side. This bridle replaces an old Edgewood that doesn't compare at the same price.

SmartPak brought this bridle to Equine Affaire this past November, and I instantly fell in love with it. The color is rich, the leather is like butter. I cannot comment of the Durability and Fit of this birdle, but I do know that you get what you pay for. A bridle of this quality will not let you down when it comes to durability quality. This is THE bridle!

I was worried about the color/softness due to the other reviews, however, when I opened the box I was pleasantly surprised that it was a beautiful reddish-dark brown color. The bridle was initially very soft and I use a one-step clean/conditioner on it and it shines! The reins and very new feeling, so I put some Lexol and flex it, so hopefully with time it will soften up, but they are not uncomfortably stiff or anything. The only thing that wasn't so great, is that the throat-latch is very long, so even on the top hole it is a bit too loose, but I guess if you have a thick-necked horse it will accommodate it. Overall, I absolutely love this set, especially since you do not have to buy separate reins. So just buy it!

I bought one of these in the SmartPak store because once I picked it up, there was NO WAY anyone was prying it out of my hands. The leather is incredibly soft and high-quality, the color came a lovely dark brown, and the quality is gorgeous.
My only complaint is that the leather is wider, especially in the cheekpieces, which tends to overwhelm a horse with a more delicate head. If only they were a little narrower it would be perfect.

After a month and a half of searching for what I felt would be the most comfortable and best fitting bridle for my growing 4yr old 17.2H TB, I found the Nantucket Monocrown. I took the dive in ordering, having not been able to "feel" it first, but you will not be disappointed! Unlike some other reviews, my bridle came a beautiful dark nut brown, unbelievably soft, the calfskin padding is the ultimate in high-end quality, stitching tight and even. My suggestion: Do not oil this bridle, it only needs a good first conditioning and a good cleaner afterwards. If you're on the fence about buying this bridle, don't hesitate! It easily compares to Vespucci, Edgewood etc. The Monocrown is awesome! One very soft padded piece for your horse"s comfort! My very sensitive horse loves it!

Very high-quality bridle, nice soft padding. Did arrive a rather scary orange color, but oiled up after 2 coats. Still a little lighter than I'd like, but not too bad. The reins needed some oiling and conditioning to soften up, but the bridle itself was pretty soft after just one or two coats of oil. Looks great on my grey horse, and the oversize was actually large enough to fit him!!

I purchased this bridle about a month ago. I have been using it regularly and have oiled it three or four times, and it is shaping up to be absolutely beautiful. The leather is soft and supple and clearly high quality, and is darkening really nicely (in the beginning, it was a sort of a shocking orange color). It fits a wide range of the horses in my barn. I have been able to use it without gloves from day one. It is padded in all the right places, and the padding is a nice dark brown color. I am very happy with this bridle.
