"I purchased a 78 for my 16.1 Dutch gelding, and an 84 for my massive Hanoverian gelding. The blanket fits both of them very well and didn't rub either of them in the shoulders. They held up nicely through the winter and are still in perfect condition aside from being covered in mud. They also did a great job keeping my boys warm and dry when it rained, unlike the previous turnout sheet I used."

"I purchased a 78 and 81 for my two TB geldings and used them all winter. They've held up wonderfully even under their extremely rough "play". I noticed the 78 did come with velcro at the chest and heavier duty leg straps which I considered may have been improvements that were being grandfathered in. The fit has been great. The weight is wonderful. The price is right. I can't be more pleased and would purchase them again if needed."

"I bought the unlined version (he already had a a blanket) to use as a turn out sheet. He is very tough on blankets but has not managed to damage this! Great quality, but order a set of leg straps when you order the blanket because you'll want to replace the useless ones that come with it. I also took off the very large "pleather" SmartPak logo on the side because I was afraid of it becoming a chew toy.
The fit is good, no rubs. The only way this could be improved (besides better leg straps) is with the addition of velcro at the chest for better closure. I do like the adjustable clip on chest closures though!"

"I'm normally a Rambo user but bought this blanket due to tight finances and I've been very happy with it. My TB goes out with a rambunctious crowd and it's held up very well so far. The shoulder gussets aren't placed very well, which is my only complaint; they are rubbing a bit. Otherwise, loved it enough that I bought another one for my other horse and it's doing great also."

"Bought this blanket for a 15hh APHA mare and found the fit was spot on, even for her wide shoulders. She's been able to freely play in her pasture without the blanket restricting her even at a gallop. The snaps are all heavy duty, the weight is just right for the pacific northwest winter. Totally waterproof. She's gotten many compliments! Will buy again."

"Smart Pak Deluxe Turnout blanket is not only great by itself, but works great with the attachable turnout neck rug for nasty weather. Only problem is we have to tape the neck rug to blanket in wind, straps&hook aren't enough to keep it down. The products are great, customer service outstanding. The fit is perfect. We were Baker blanket users for 10yrs. Last one was cut so bad we switched to SmartPak.

"My experience with mesh linings is not good at all. If your horse ever rolls, then the dirt and mud collect in the mesh and falls into the smooth pocket at the base of the sheet. This makes for a very heavy sheet, that will hang lopsided and create a dangerous situation for your horse to get tangled in. Great idea in theory, but not at all a good sheet solution. The mesh also collect all the shedding hair and can't be cleaned properly. It is no cooler or lighter. The outer part of this sheet is nice and I would buy one IF they can change the lining to a smooth fabric. The construction is exactly what I want on the outside!"

"I have an Arab cross and a QH. I never thought the same blanket would actually fit them both. I purchased one first for our QH and it has stood up to her rolling, grazing, rain, snow, etc.. When our Arab destroyed his blanket early this winter, I really wanted the same blanket and decided to give it a try on his small neck. Because of all the adjustment possibilities, we found it fit him just as well. He really likes to roll, which it what took out the last blanket.
No one has shoulder rub, the straps are holding up and the horses seem quite happy as well. Evidenced by the fast that they haven't tried to remove these themselves, which they have done in the past with other blankets."

"This is a really nice Turnout, with SO MANY great features. It fits beautifully and the sides are nice and long. "I really wanted to like this sheet. My horse is 16.3 hands and the sheet fits perfectly length-wise but hangs down super low. Even my barn manager remarked that the sheet hangs down too low. One of the rear leg straps snapped the first day I had it. For the price I would like a better fit. I wouldn't order this particular sheet again.
