"We have a 15 year old paint gelding who we show at local open pleasure shows. After changing barns a few times in the past few years, he suddenly became herd bound to any horse he recognized at ANY show. He began whinnying, carrying on, bolting, trying to climb over stalls, and just being dangerous. My two young sisters 13 and 15 couldn't show him anymore, and were beginning to get scared of him. He has shown for many years, was a lesson horse, is always an angel at home, and has hundreds of points from showing with us over the years, so this was not normal behavior. We tried some different calming supplements, but they seemed to have no effect, or to actually make him worse. We decided to try SmarCalm Ultra after talking to a SmartPak rep at IEA Nationals in Oklahoma City. After a little over one month, my horse is better than ever! He now trailers better too, and is safe again. We showed this past weekend with many horses from previous barns and he didn't mind at all; we took grand or reserve in every division he entered. He isn't tired or lazy, just relaxed again. This supplement allowed us to keep showing the horse we know and love! Thank you SmartPak!"

"My mare has been using the pellets for a month. I THINK it is helping as she's also taking Smart Gut, started the same time. She gets trailered 3 x a week for training. Her overall looky-lu behavior has dimenished. The trainer believes there is a difference and the mare seems more focused."

"I have used SmartCalm Ultra powder for the last three years. It really works great to keep my paint calm. I deceided to try the pellets since I feed pelleted grain. I was very pleased with pellets and the horse ate them without any problem. I would recommend this product for anyone that has a horse that just needs something to take the edge off him. It does not affect his performance at shows. He received several trophys and many ribbons."

"I purchased this product for my unraced 5yr old thoroughbred mare. My mare would get very unattentive and spook at the smallest noises and movements, then bolt. This product has not changed what my mare is (a young, spirited, tb, mare) but has made these "episodes" dramatically less in number and she gets back on task much more quickly when they do happen. This product is not going to turn a greenie into a seasoned schoolmaster but has made my mare much more focused on her job and less with what is going on around her."

"My mare has only been on Smart Calm Ultra for a short time (3 wks.) , so I don't feel as though I can give a complete review. "I used this on my 4yr old TB gelding. I had injured my knee a few months back and was unable to do much. Bad news for a young TB as I could not ride. When I got back to him he was as expected, "full of it". I have been a big fan of Smart pack and decided to try their Smart Calm. I was pleasantly surprised to see a different horse in a matter of days. He was not tired or droopy, his spirit had not failed. He simply "came back to earth" much quicker after a spooky event. My farrier was impressed as well. My knee is now healed but Im enjoying his more relaxed demeanor so much that I think I will keep him on it."

"My talented AWS (Oldenburg) gelding, Hans, has been unpredictable the past six months. He has recently been diagnosed with Equine Recurrent Uveitis in L eye, and a suspicious mass in the other, so I have been blaming lots of his behaviour on his poor or sore sight. HOWEVER, since starting on SmartCalmUltra, I and all others at the barn agree there's been a huge decrease in Hans' anxiety level. He is easier to handle, saddle and exercise; not a birdbrain about wind and new objects. I am LOVING my time with him now, not feeling anxious... we are moving forward! Surely it is a combination of SmartCalmUltra, my confidence and stronger leadership, and his decision to work with me/obey. He suffers bouts of eye irritation, but tries hard to excel, not to test me all the time. Thank you, SmartPak."

"I can't believe how well this product has worked on my horse in just 1 month's time. "Hummer" is my 25 year old Appendix who does not know he's a senior citizen! Although I am blessed to have a horse his age who is bright, vibrant, and always willing (and mostly able!) to do what's asked of him, he at times acts as if he's a 2 year old, and almost every ride on him includes an unexpected leap into the air - literally all four off the ground - completely unexpectedly and with no warning whatsoever. He's very smooth about it, and typically I stay with him, but this little habit was really wearing thin with me, and I was starting to not enjoy our rides so much anymore. I spoke to a friend who had used SmartCalm Ultra on her horse who had a similiar issue and which kept unseating the friend's sixty-something year old mother - they tried this supplement and the mare stopped the behavior completely after about 2 weeks of being on SmartCalm Ultra. In addition, I spoke to my horse's vet, and he indicated that behavior like I was describing can at times be attributed to low levels of melatonin in the horse. He said increase the melatonin levels and you increase the horse's sense of calm and well-being. Well, being that SmartCalm Ultra contains melatonin AND tryptophan, another known agent promoting calmness and relaxation, I decided to try it. My horse has not leapt in the air once since being on this supplement - even coming back from 2 months of limited activity due to an injury. Normally, he'd be bouncing off the ceiling our first ride back, but the proof this supplement works really hit home when the teenager I normally have "work him down" for me after time off expressed complete disbelief when she saw him working in a very active arena full of horses jumping and cantering around with absolutely zero reaction from him! It was truly a great feeling and I am now once again looking forward to our rides - with no one getting airborne!!"

"My horse was laid up for a while and not handling his vacation so well. He became very hard to handle and just too wild to be turned out without causing more damage. I used medications from my vet to keep him quiet but didn't want to keep him on that long term because of the side effects.
I DOUBLE dosed this. 1 serving AM and 1 serving PM and I do think it helped. I kept him on the 2x/day for a month and have now backed down to just one serving 1x/day. Its no ace or reserpine but I do think it helped take the edge off and I did notice the days that my horse missed the double dose. It took a solid 3 weeks before I noticed any difference and that it was working.
My horse is still on it and I would definitely use again"

"Before starting Smart Calm, my 5 yr old Arab Gelding could not focus or pay attention while I was training him. Rebel was always looking anywhere but at me and jumping at the slightest sound. I was getting desperate! So I gave Smart Calm a try and 4 months later its like I have another horse. Rebel is a lot more focused and listens to me better plus he's not as jumpy. Seeing how much its changed his attitude, I'll never take him off it! Thanks SmartPak!"

"My horse is incredibly high strung and hot, especially in the arena. He almost never does a four beat walk. On this product he was more reasonable and will look more at things but not spook at them, and will walk around calmly at ghd beginning of the ride. However, it seems to wear off as his adrenaline level increases, so once we start getting to work, or out on the trails once we've done some gallops he's back to prancing and mostly being impossible to control. I haven't taken him to a show yet on it but I think with the excitement of a show I won't see much difference there either."

"I previously sent a review on this product stating that it hadn't yet worked. That was 1 month ago. I now can honestly say that this product has made my QB calmer and less spooky. He also doesn't race to get back to the barn. I love this product and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who has issues with spooking. Also as a footnote, he has summers itch and I'm trying the Omegas to see if that gives him some comfort. So far go good. I'll know more when the Arizona heat hits."

"I ordered this product because my gelding had become unmanageable on the ground. He was on it for several months and I saw no change in his behavior. I finally took him off it and started him on a new product, which does seem to have helped. Other people I know have had good success with SmartCalm Ultra, but it did no good on my horse."
