"My young lab, Rocko, went crazy over this "toy", and hasn't gotten bored with it, so I ordered a second one for my older lab, Abbey! I can't wait to receive it."

"This has got to be my best purchase yet of durable dog toys/chews. My three dogs (all about 21 pounds) can chew through anything, but these take them time to get through the chewable rings. The bristles work well as I could see a bit of blood on the bristle which is a sign the bristles are getting around the gums."

Dog's new favorite toy

"My dog loves this toy. It kept her occupied for hours even after she'd chewed off the gnawhides. She's fairly destructive with toys, but she hasn't managed to do any real damage to this one yet.
It is pretty heavy, and it gets kind of gross when the gnawhides start to deteriorate, but those are the only flaws I've found. I bought this on a whim, and I'm glad I did."

"I got this for my gotta chew something constantly 8 month old GoldenDoodle puppy. The first week it was very entertaining and it took him many sessions to chew through the raw hide chewy inserts. Now he has figured out how to split them and has them out and gone in 5 minutes or less......He is above average in his chewing.destroying abilities! He still can be entertained by the toy though so it was a good purchase."

"My dog loves the bristle bone with or without the treat rings inserted! At first it took him awhile to eat the rings, but now he's figured out how to eat them pretty quickly. He has not been back to the vet yet, so I'm not sure if his teeth are looking any better, but either way he's a happy boy!"

"My very-strong-chewing Golden Retriever LOVES this bone. He chews it daily and it quickly became his absolute favorite. The best part is that it is going to last! He has destroyed many toys, but this one will stick around. Thanks SmartPak!"

"My dogs absolutely love this bone! I had to buy several since they kept stealing it from each other. My dogs are determined chewers when it comes to bones and these have held up well. The rawhide rings are gone within minutes but the bones are still the dogs' favorite! As someone else mentioned, I does sound like a rock when dropped on tile floor. It makes me cringe every time but I've yet to have a tile crack! Overall, great for high maintenance chewers!"

"The bone part is not soft plastic, but a hard plastic...not chew-friendly. If you have tile floor, its VERY LOUD when dropped...sounds like a large rock being dropped. Only 2 refill pieces. I don't see how it works to clean teeth...not really designed for that. I'd say this one is a dud."

"I got this toy along with the refill pack. Toy was destroyed in 15 minutes - never opened the refill pack. I have several Nylabone chew toys for my dogs - they normally last for months. This one took longer to get out of the package then it took to go from peices on the floor to the trash."
"This bone is awesome. The treat rings last a long time and never splinter like rawhides can. Because the rings are somewhat hard to reach, this bone keeps my dog busy for a long time, which helps keep her from chewing on things she shouldn't be!"
"I LOVE THIS BONE!!! The gnawhide rings are super tempting and Java really has to work to nibble them down between the bristles. His front teeth get a better cleaning than his back teeth, but he prefers a regular Nylabone for serious chewing (even though this bone has awesome ends for that). The only word of caution is to make sure the end is screwed on super secure. My clever Shepherd figured out how to unscrew the end the first time and just eat the treats. No problem since I learned to screw them on tighter!"

"My large standard poodle puppy loves this item. It has been helpful because it is large enough, tough enough and he loves the flavor. It really allows him to put it in his mouth where he needs it most."

"I was looking for a "safe" chew toy to help keep my three dogs' teeth clean. I do not allow rawhide or natural bones because of the dogs breaking off and swallowing large pieces. The Bristle Bone with the slim rawhide discs has been doing a great job. The dogs really have to work to get a piece of the rawhide and their teeth get a really good scrubbing while they work at it. So far has held up very well - I have a pug, a border collie and a Bouvier."

"My dog loved this toy from the beginning, but at first he was just chewing the ends like a normal bone. I had to rub peanut butter on the bristles to get him to figure out how to chew it. I think that the rawhide smells similar to the plastic in the beginning. The peanut butter really helped and now he chews it correctly."

"My dog took a while to warm up to this (about 1 hour), but now loves it. Like some other users, my dog did manage to unscrew the toy, but tightening it more fixed that. I am hopefull that this product really will keep her teeth clean.
I wish the outer bone portions weren't super hard plastic. Every time she drops it (or throws it) I feel the need to check for cracks in the floor!
Initially the toy and treat rings smelled like plastic. To get my dog interested, I had to smear canned food over the bristles."

"I bought this toy for my older dog hoping that it would help clean her teeth. She didnt like it because the gnawhides dont have a different smell than the toy. They smell like plastic. I had to cut some lunch meat and put it in the toy beside the gnawhides. My other dog played with it like that. He did unscrew it a couple times and some of the brisles did fall out. I wish they sold replacement brisles. He does love this toy, even without treats in it."

"Very cool product. Unfortunately, my Belgian Malinois figured out how to unscrew it in about 10 minutes, and unscrewed it twice within a 1/2 hour. To be fair, she also unties the knots out of rope tugs too (she seems to like "un-assembling" things in a semi-orderly manner). We screwed it on very tightly the second time & she left it intact. She LOVES it - really kept her entertained for a long time. I'd definitely recommend this for those smart dogs who get bored easily."
