Seems to be very good quality. I appreciate that SmartPack provides a very detailed, informative nutritional analysis. Shipped fast. Great packaging with a strong, but easy open/close tub. Like I've noticed with most vitamin and mineral supplements, both animal and human grade,there's a slightly unpleasant smell. It didn't bother my horse or my donkey because they ate it just fine, even all by itself. I stored a cloth sachet (cloves and crushed cinnamon sticks) in the container and now it smells great.

SmartSupplements, like this one, are incredible values. It was exactly what I was looking for to feed as a supplement to my horses that were not getting enough of a fortified grain to meet all the daily requirements. But two of them definitely do not like the pellets, even mixed in to beet pulp or alfalfa pellets. It's a real bummer, as I'd love to keep feeding it! I would say one of those horses is a picky eater-- the other has never been!

I do not feed any of my horses the huge amount of bagged feed needed to supply their daily allotment of nutrients. These vitamins allow me to know that they are receiving the vitamins and minerals their bodies need. The horses enjoy the extra pellets added to their beet pulp, rice bran, and feed. Even my picky eater devours these pellets like they are treats.

My horses do not receive grain. With Performance Grass Pellets I don't have to worry about them having the minerals and vitamins that they need. Both of my horses have dapples now where they didn't when they were on a good quality grain.

I have one horse- not the easiest keeper in the world, but not hard either and I prefer to let him eat all the hay he wants. So he needs a ration balancer rather than a full serving of grain to keep him from getting fat while still getting the vitamins and minerals missing from his hay. A 50lb bag would probably be more economical except the weevils and mold would get to it before I got halfway through it with the climate where I live, so this stuff is the way to go. My horse does fantastic on it- good coat, hoof, and is keeping weight very well. He likes it and is happy to eat it straight. I just wish it were cheaper! I recommend this product to others on a regular basis when they have horses that can't or shouldn't be getting a full serving of supplemented grain or balanced feed.

I put my two guys on this product to give them all the vit/min they needed since they don't get hardly any grain and only really eat hay. I had a hard time getting them to eat it and they would only eat it when it was mixed really well with grain and they were in a stall and could pick at it all day. However, if given any opportunity to pick through it, they would. It was finally getting to be too much of a hassle to try to get them to eat it and they were starting to get better at sorting through everything and leaving (or spitting it out on the ground) the supplement behind. I felt like I was just throwing money away! If they could make it taste better, it would be perfect!

I put my horse on this because he eats very little pelleted feed/grain (2 lbs/day of SafeChoice), so he was definitely in need of a multivitamin. Right before putting him on the supplement, he had been having muscle cramping issues that the vet thought could be PSSM. After adding this supplement, his symptoms improved dramatically (probably because of the vitamin E and selenium).
My horse eats this supplement with no problem (he is not picky at ALL), but a friend tried it for her picky eater and he would not touch it.

Previously I have used SmartVite Easy Keeper Grass, but this supplement at half dose is exactly the same formula but a better value economically. My horses have always maintained healthy, shiny, dappled coats. Hoof quality is good and overall health is excellent. I highly recommend this product.

I love that Smartpak makes multivitamins for different hay types and different activity levels. I also love that the multivitamins don't have artificial preservatives or "fillers" like soybean meal or corn byproducts. This multi is super yummy (according to my horse). Maybe Smartpak needs to make people multivitamins so I'd actually remember to take one!

I changed to Smartvite from another product as an addition to my current SmartPak supplements. I was constantly running out and forgeting to re-purchase the other product. Smartvite is a much more economical with superior ingredients than what I was using and SmartPak delivering these to my door takes the worry out of running out and having to find the other supplement. Can't beat the service.

I got this for my gelding who was on a hay only diet. He is an extreme easy keeper and was overweight on pasture so when I dry lotted him with just hay I wanted him to get all the vits/mins he needs. This seemed to fit the bill. I can't really see/tell a difference in him but it does give me peace of mind. It has a strong smell but he eats it fine with a small amount of grain.

I've had my gelding on this for about a month or so and he looks great! He is kept outside all the time in the sun and gets very little grain, and at shows he is shinier and looks just as good if not better than his barn-kept, grain-fed peers, and is much happier!

I have my horse on a half dose of this since he does get some grain, but only about a cup and a half (standard measuring cup), so it isn't a lot at all. Since I've started him on this I've noticed a definite improvement in his coat quality. His energy levels are quite good on this product too. I've been considering switching him off grain completely, and I've compared the full dose of this product with several other similar supplements and ration balancers, and I will definitely switch him to the full dose of this product if I decide to take him off grain. Perfect fat and protein amounts and the most comprehensive selection of vitamins and minerals. I highly recommend this.

...is fantastic!!! Since putting him back on a multivitamin, his coat condition is just wonderful. He has problems with chronic scratches through the winter/spring, and in the month that he's been getting Smartvites the condition has almost completely resolved. And the summer coat that's starting to come in is nice and soft. I had him on a different vitamin supplement about a year ago and had the same results, but for about twice the price. Never again will I stop vitamin supplementation...it only does good! It complements the joint supplements I give him; he's moving better in the last month than he has in the last year. Thank you Smartvites!

I give this to all my horses that are not on a full ration of grain. It's great to know that even on a conservative diet they are still getting good nutrition. I only feed one scoop - it's the same as the EZ keeper but saves a few bucks. My picky will eat it just fine-as long as it's mixed in.
