"This was for a horse that will eat anything that doesn't eat him first and he wont touch these pellets at all. I even tried adding them to feed and he would pick the feed out and leave these."

"I have tried to feed this supplement to two of my horses who get very little grain for over a year now...however the palatability is variable. Neither of the two horses who receive it are picky eaters, and neither will touch it on a regular basis (they eat a little of it but not all) which is unfortunate becasue it seems like it should be a great solution for horses on low grain and limited pasture. I have tried to offer it to other horses in my barn as well, as a test, and they spit it out too....unfortunatley I would NOT rate this as picky eater approved, or even non-pickey eater approved..."

"This is the only supplement my 2 horses receive. They are both "Easy Keepers' with the mare prone to insulin resistence. They accept this very well and both look very healthy--coat, hooves, and everything even thought there is no grazing this snowy February and they get very little grain with their hay. Have been reading about iron overload when minerals get out of balance and I feel this is rectifying that. No sunbleached mane or coat look, no hooks on the ends of mane & tail hair, and no fine lines on hooves."

World's LEAST PICKY Mini Hates Them!

"I started my Mini on these in December 2012. I'd had him for just over 2 years, and realized I had never really focused on his diet all that much - because he is just such an easy keeper! I thought these sounded like a great idea for him. Price was good, SmartPak supplements are always superb, and I felt they were certainly the best bang for the buck. Unfortunately, my Mini who eats LITERALLY anything (I've witnessed this guy nab cotton balls before and scarf them like they're candy#...absolutely HATES these. The first few days he seemed pretty excited to be getting a handful of Triple Crown feed w/them, but it did not take long at all for him to root through these pellets and only eat the TC. I kept him on them for 2 months, hoping he would eventually decide he liked them...but it is only on rare occasion that he eats a few #and it is probably on accident - when he is really being piggish!) He also gets MSM pellets that he more than happily eats, and just started on Equitrol that he also has no problems with. These pellets are ALWAYS left in his bucket - and not even my two big horses want anything to do with them. If SmartPak could give them a better flavor, I would no doubt put my Mini back on these, but he has since been switched to MegaCell."

"Both of my horses are "easy keepers" and with hay & pasture quality suffering from the drought this past year, I feel better knowing my two are getting nutritional support. I started this product 1 1/2 months ago and the horses look great and act like they feel in their prime. They accepted it easily from Day 1. I am dubious that the product would have enough "healthy fats" and probiotics to really make a difference in the recommended dosage, but would have to research more on what actually is a good amount for a horse."

"My horse is in light work and is not in turnout because he is recovering from an injury. He does not need the extra calories and energy that he would get from a full serving of grain, but he lacked the essential vitamins and minerals. He needed slightly more energy and stamina but considering it is winter and no turnout I needed a solution to balance energy with proper nutrients. I give him half the recommended amount of Smartvite EZ Keeper grass with a handful of feed. I will increase the amount of smartvite as his workload increases. He now has more energy, but it is a calm energy. I am very pleased with the results of this product."

"I started my saddle mules on this supplement a few months ago, just to ensure that all their nutritional needs were being met. They look great - and there's been no problem with them eating this, either. Mules can be quite suspicious when something new is added to their feed, but mine, after preliminarly inspection, obviously decided this was Good Stuff. And I have learned to trust their judgment! I'd recommend this product to anyone who is interested in maintaining their animals well."

"I love the ingredients, the price point, the fact that it comes in pellets.
However, between this and the SmartHoof, these dark green pellets are left in the bucket every night so I would say my horse does not like them."

"I carefully compared the ingredients in this vitamin to others on the market, and I cold not believe what I found. I can feed half the daily dose of this product and still supply my horses with more nutrients than many of the other more expensive vitamins on the market. I consider that a win-win situation. I have no problem getting my horses to eat these pellets."

"Can't speak to the nutritional value of this supplement; my filly won't touch it. I can't even trick her into eating it by mixing it with a handful of food, because she turns down grain if this supplement is in the bucket. And my filly DOES NOT turn down grain."

"I have an extreme EZ Keeper who gets fat on air. I had to reduce his grain amount; then he was missing so many needed nutrients. You could tell his energy was low.
After feeding The EZ Keeper Grass Pellets his energy level has increased and his appetite is satisfied.

"I got this for a friend's gelding I'm "borrowing" as a companion for my filly. He is a very easy keeper, but had been kept on grass and pasture alone and his feet looked a little rough. Since starting this his feet have improved and his coat looks better. He also eats this without having to mix it with grain (which is good because he doesn't need the extra calories)."

"My Haflinger filly is certainly the stereotype of her breed; she stays fat on air and is hard to manage to keep the pounds off of her. After much headache trying different "light" feeds to still provide her adaquete nutrition, she would still gain weight and since she wasn't even receiving the minimum feed ration for her size, she started showing signs of nutrient deficiencies #ie hooves started chipping, coat, etc#..and still like a whale.
I've tried Smartpak before for a hardkeeper TB with horrible feet and their products worked wonders, so I resorted to this E Z Keeper for my mare. We're on our 2nd month and I can already tell a difference. She's not sluggish anymore, I took her off her grain **Downside is that I still have to give her a handful to make her want to eat this product** #She's never been picky either# and even my farrier said her hoof growth coming in looks wonders better!
Now I can rest assured my baby is taken care of and feeling/looking so much happier!
