"Loved the Idea of the SmartVite Senior. The levels of all ingrediants are well up to par... except... I typically have a non-picky eater, loves food - it took two weeks for him to not fuss about the taste. Asked for samples of SelectII, he ate it like a treat. Had to switch from using exclusive SmartPak products to a "buffet" of manufacturer's. Wish my boy could be an exclusive SmartPak Boy. Just doing what is best for him and for my budget."

"I ordered these for my 28 year old mare, but I think she was insulted that I had switched her to a "senior" feed and would not eat them no matter how long I left them in her bucket! I had to feed them to her 8 year old grandson who thinks they are delicious! Grandma gobbles down her Barn Bag pellets, but not these. I'm sure it's just her personal taste, though she isn't a particularly picky eater. Be sure to have Smart Pak send you some free samples to make sure your horse likes them."

"I have not had any problems getting my horse to eat it. he is an older easy keeper on pasture and only gets 1/2 a scoop of grain total a day. this gives him the vitamin balance he needs without the added calories."

"My senior horse that has a brain tumor as a result of matastic skin cancer looks the best she has ever looked. She is retired form riding and is thriving. She has put on weight and a very good hair coat for the upcoming winter. I owe much of this to her Senior Supplements!"

"My older QH is in much better condition because of this product. He's more active and his arthritis seems to bother him less. And I never have to worry about him not eating it all because the pellet is easy for him to chew and not get all over his face like a powder."

"We switched to the pellets, because on of the guys refused to eat the powdered version, and it was too easy to him to leave it behind. We've switched all of the supplements over to pellets for this reason, and now there's no waste as we're sure they're getting it.
We give 1/2 doses of this supplement because we feed approximately half of the recommended grain ration to our mostly retired guys, and we also use the senior joint supplement. I wanted to be sure they were still getting all their nutritional needs met, and it's difficult to actually know the content of the hay, even though we work with the same suppliers, as they cut many fields, and it's obvious the content differs from field to field. We're happy with all of our SmatPak supplements, and our horses are thriving on them.

"I have my 29 year old Cushing's Arab on several Smartpak supplements, she had deceided she didn't like the powders and was VERY adept at leaving them in the bottom of her feed bucket. Now I've switched her to the Smartpak Grass pellets and everything gets cleaned up!"

"I was very pleased with the SmartVite Senior to begin with. Now, SmartPak has gone one better with the separate formulations for grass and alfalfa hays, and the pelleted formula is a great change! No more waste, and my 30 year old mare looks great! Now, I can be assured that the formula is correctly balanced for her diet, as well. Thank you, SmartPak!"

"Obviously there's no way for me to really tell if the vitamins are helping him, but I removed my horse from all grain after laminitis. I was concerned that my horse might not get all of the nutrients he needs from just hay and very limited grass. He likes these pellets and will eat them without any doctoring for flavor (I have to put apple juice in powdered supplements)."

"We have used the powder for over six months and the pellets for less than a month. The powder was easy to use and we didn't have to worry about our horses collicking on it. The horses who didn't like the powder taste in the reviews of the powder (why SmartPak stopped making it in the powder form) was probably because they were being fed it in dry grain or didn't have it stirred into their wet grain thoroughly. Feeding dry grain is a recipe for disaster according to every vet and farrier we've ever talked to. The pellets don't stir in well with the other powders and when soaked to break up more like the powder they stick to the bottom of the bucket. SO frustrating! All in all a terrible idea, not to mention they are more expensive than the powder. If SmartPak was indeed as smart as the name suggests, they would go back to offering the powder in the paks again at the lower price. What's more is that the powder was still available according to the website when we were called by the company and told we had no other choice but the pellets in the paks. They are shooting themselves in the foot with the decision not to make the powder paks. We will not be re-purchasing these again in pellet form. Very disappointing!"

"I have a 32 yr old QH who is extremely picky with the supplements he will eat (he won't touch a powder or crumble so I get excited whenever I can find a decent supplement in a pellet form). He has only been on this for about month, but so far so good! I'm concerned with his age about keeping him in good health and weight. He is on a few other pelleted supplements but has no issue eating this right up."
