"My horse is 22 years old and retired and no longer is ridden much more than a bareback hack. I decided to board him outdoors because his arthritis really bothers him when he stands still any amount of time. Being outdoors, he is on grass much of the year with little more than a handful of grain per day. I put him on these vitamins to fill in the "gaps" in nutrients that he may not get enough of just eating pasture alone. I plan on putting him back on SmartVite Sr. Grass Pellets come spring. His body condition was great, he had energy, he had great color, and his coat was shiny. I'm very satisfied with this product. The only reason I am taking him off of it for the winter is because he gets more grain and the supplementary vitamins are not as necessary."

"I decided to add a vitamin supplement to my horse's ration. He's 20, kept on grass 24/7, and fed very little fortified grain. I have no idea if this product is helping him, but it's so cheap, I figure "can't hurt, might help." It smells vaguely "vitaminy," sort of like Flintstones Chewables, but mixed with a little Strategy and water, my boy gobbles this right up."

"I have two 19 year old Friesians that are both in great shape, working, and very healthy. Doing some research on what would be best I chose SmartVite Senior Grass Pellets as a supplement since they are on grass hay diets. I was using a different supplement, but decided I wanted to give them something more specific to grass hay diets.
I am not big on adding lots of supplements to their diets unnecessarily, so I am careful to give them only what they need. As seniors, their bodies don't make what they did when they were young, and for me to keep them in top shape they need supplements.
SmartPak does some really good webinars on senior horse care, and I appreciated what I learned. Also, they spent a lot of time on the phone with me to make sure I got the right combination of things."

"I have been using this product for over 6 months. Our 20 year old WP gelding is still ridden daily30-40 min. He loves the pellets and I feel great he is receiving all the vitamins and minerals he requires. I have noticed a big change in his holding his weight and attitude. I am very happy with Smart paks! "I started using the SmartVite Senior supplement a few years ago when my retired jumper needed some senior support. I bought the powder because his teeth were in bad shape and I had recently switched him to a mushy diet. He didn't like the taste of the powder, but eventually he started to like it (with the addition of rice bran). He blossomed on this supplement. When I went to reorder, the only option was to buy the pelleted version. I did, and tried everything from a coffee grinder to soaking to make the little rock hard pellets edible for the old man.
Eventually I stopped ordering the supplement, because the only time I could feed it to him was when I was at the farm to soak the pellets. Now I have to buy several supplements to make up the void missing from his diet. It would be great if SmartPak would bring the powdered formula (maybe with improved palatability?) back for senior horses with poor teeth. The pellets are hard and take a while to soak. Grinding didn't work - the pellets broke my coffee grinder.
I really liked this supplement and would recommend it to owners of horses needing this level of dietary support with good teeth."

"Was having some problems with my mare not growing her coat back after being clipped. She just did not look as good as usual. Since she is a "senior" and still showing, I wanted her looking good and healthy. This product (along with a hoof supplement) have really done a great job. I wish it was a little less expensive but would buy again."

"I started feeding this product about 3 weeks ago after listening to the webinar on smart feeding. i hadn't before thought that my horse wasn't getting full nutrients of his feed because he didn't get full amount (only 1/2lb 2x's a day Safechoice), but it made perfect sense to me. His coat is so soft now and he's feeling great. He is 20+ y/o and upon the recommendations of Jen @ smartpak I went with Sr VS just the normal which I agreed was a good idea."

"My QH gelding is 33 years old. A couple years ago, I noticed his coat getting dull and he didn't have as much energy. The best part is he LOVES them! I can hand feed them to him (he thinks they are a treat!) or dump them on his grain. (But never more than his SmartPak a day!)
In the middle of the night a bad storm came up and I wanted to get him in his stall. Of course he refused to come in the barn, so knew bribery was required. Left the house without the barn keys and the horse treats were locked up. The only two options were grain and SmartVite - grain does not work, but he came in for a few SmartVite pellets!"
