This item sat in my cart for a few weeks before I decided to pull the trigger and pay the money for it. And I'm very happy that I did. I've had it now for over a year and it still looks as it did the day I pulled it out of the box. I purchased the largest size and it is plenty roomy for my German Shepherd to sleep multiple ways on it. It provided support for his back to lean against it without falling off and a center cushion that is removable in order to wash. The material is very durable, not a scratch, tear or hole in it and it looks lovely in your home. Its well worth the money for those of us who tend to go through bed after bed because they don't withstand time, use or you just can't get rid of the odor. For what I've spent in the past on beds, I think I'll have this one for a very long time.

Following up on my previous review, I received the XL beds for my German Shepherd and Golden Retriever: the jump from L to XL was substantial, and the XL bed is plenty large enough with room to spare-- could probably fit a 100+ lb dog. All my dogs now love their new beds, and I love how they look!

I'm not so good at judging the fit of a dog bed by the measurements, but luckily I have dogs in multiple sizes. I ordered one in Large, hoping it would fit my German Shepherd or Golden Retriever, both 70-80 lbs. (I was estimating this since a previous reviewer said the largest size fit her DDBs, and I thought that must be XL, but apparently this bed also comes in XXL, so not sure about that). The Large did NOT fit either of my larger two dogs, but it fits my 50 lb Aussie Shepherd mix 1.5 year-old puppy perfectly and he loves it, curls up in it every evening (when he *finally* exhausts himself from playing, that is). My German Shepherd loves it too, even though he doesn't actually fit IN the bed, but he'll lie ACROSS it anyway, when it's not in use by the Aussie. Ordering 2 more of these beds in XL for my larger 2 dogs. This is a super-nice dog bed, worth the price, high-quality supportive cushioning, and the fabric is awesome quality and a great color. (I bought Pecan Filigree.) My dogs, especially the Shepherds, seem to love the bolster/nest shape that hugs them and allows them to tuck their heads inside. This is THE dog bed to have for anyone who cares about how a dog bed looks in their decor. I'm replacing my living room carpet with hardwood floors, and very happy to find beds so nice to go in the LR. The old beds will be retired to less-public rooms. Wish I had upholstery fabric this nice on my people-furniture!

I have 5 Dogue De Bordeaux and a show horse farm. Needless to say, my dogues' beds get a constant work-out from tired DDB flopping themselves down, after a good run, making sure the farm is "safe" from intruders. ;-)
Unfortunately, this has caused me to purchase and throw away countless dog beds that couldn't keep up with the demands of a giant breed dog, covered in whatever they got into that day, throwing themselves onto it several times daily. The "fluff it up" with those huge mastiff claws always spelled the end for cheap beds.
These beds arrived, and immediately my farm help and I "ooo'ed and ahhh'ed" over the plush beautiful fabric. One person said, "Are you really going to give that to the dogues ? It's pretty enough to put on my bed." I have to admit, it was the loveliest fabric I had ever seen for a dog bed. Then I laid a couple of these new beds out in place of their older cuddlers. Immediatley the dogues began trying to outwit one another to see who gets to have these new beds for the night. Thankfully, I'm "on to" my wiley DDB's and had purchased 5 of these new beds, so before the night was through, they all had one of these as their own.
I have had too many dog beds over the years to count, but this is the ONLY review I have ever bothered to write about a bed, or much else, for that matter. I ordered 5 of your XL beds in the Pecan Filigree fabric and saved the receipt so I would always remember WHERE I got these stunning pieces of tough-wearing, dog-loving, cuddle beds. I'll be ordering 5 more to stash away when these new beds begin to show wear & tear, but with the fantastic quality of the material & construction, I really don't think I'll be having to pull out the new ones for a few years. That's amazing - a first in my 23 years of owning DDB !
Oh, and THANK YOU Smartpak, for carrying beds in sizes that can accomodate giant breed dogs. It's quite tough finding beds that really big breeds can get comfy in. These beds are generously sized and supportive. Fantastic product !
