"I bought these boots about a year and a half ago and a month later the color was starting to wear off on the inside leg. These boot are definately made for people who don't have skinny legs...they were so big at the ankles. I'm fairly skinny and they definately didn't fit at all. They also took a while to break in. I love Ariats but I was not a fan of these boots."

"I bought these when I first started showing and they were and still are my babies. I aboslutely love the quality of these boots!!! However, once they started to stretch out the zipper started to unzip so eventually a was sick and tired of the zipper constantly coming undone as I rode. I was so embarassed when I went to a Michael Page clinc and I couldnt properly put my leg around the horse. I do know Ariat has some issues with their zippers. Now I am in the market for some new boots. I was tempted to try Tredstep but after buying their halfchaps... I just couldnt give up the quality of the leather on my Ariats so I bought the Ariat Challenge I with no zipper on special order at The Tack Room Online for 150 and I wont have to sacrafice the quality or my leg position."

"I really love wearing these boots. They don't come up high enough for me because I'm 5'5 and I wear a 6, but no stock boots do, unfortunately. I bought these in a tall/slim 6 and they are just so comfortable! I wear them almost all day everyday and I have for about a year now. The leather is just perfect. They have become very grippy but not thin on the insides from daily use and the tread keeps my feet in perfect position in my cheese grater irons. Yes, they are pretty ugly and I wouldn't wear them for shows, and they lose their shine quickly. Besides that, they have been perfect. I have never had a problem with the zippers or snaps, and I am very rough on them. I love them."

"These Ariat field boots are comfortable and nice looking. I love Ariat's 4LR footbed. Bought these to replace Dublin Aristocrat because they are becoming scarce and I needed a short height size. Only gave 4 stars because of past problems with Ariat zippers and snaps breaking and haven't worn these much yet."

"These are my first pair of tall boots and I really like them. I was unsure because some of the other reviewers weren't so savvy about the boots, but if you are going to need a good pair of tall boots, or if you need your first pair of tall boots, I'd recommended these. I needed a medium/slim because I don't have any calves, and I was worried that the mediums would be too tall because I measured and it said short, but they didn't have short/slim, but the mediums were just fine. I will say that the heals and the shoe size are a bit large. I normally wear a 6 1/2 in ariats paddock boots, so that's what I got, and I probably should have gotten a 6. They're not so big that it's annoying, but I could have gone a size down. I also have very skinny narrow feet, so I think if you have wider thicker feet, you'll probably be fine with your normal size. I gave these a four in durability because I've had them less than a month, but overall I really like these boots, and they broke in rather quickly which is nice if you need new boots in a hurry."

"I wear either 9 1/2 or 10 in shoes/boots. I bought these in 9 1/2 and the fit is perfect. I have Ariats for all my boots. (The current number is 5 Ariats!) The other day I bought the shoe that looks like a cross between a tennis shoe and a hiking boot at our local store...just wondering-where's the flip-flops?! ;)"

"So far so good. They felt really tight in the calves at first and loose in the ankles but I tightened the laces put a thicker pair of socks on and wore them around the house for a few hours. Now they feel perfect. I have not yet worn them to ride in but they look and feel very nice and perfect in size. They cut a tad at the top of my knee but I have been told that is perfect because they will drop just a bit as I wear them in. They are beautiful!"

"I recently purchased these boots out a recommendations from people at my barn. They are super nice and fit well (a little big in the foot) the first day I rode in them but the next day I took them to a show because they were so comfortable but my feet were swimming in them! I used the same type of socks that I had the day before but they just felt too big. I used them again in my lesson the other day but I had to wear three pairs of socks with them (a very light pair, a medium pair, and a heavy pair). They are very nice boots and it is a shame they don't fit. They are also a bit big in the ankle. I would return them if I could, but I have already put wax (surf wax for extra stick) on them and ridden in them three times. My advice to anyone buying these boots is that they run big!"

"I've had these boots for little over a year and they are already fallen apart. The boot is fit incorrectly at the ankle, so they will look awkward when you wear them. The leather is OK, but i mean what more can you get for $249. The leather is ripping where my spur lies, and the thread is coming out from where the zipper is held. The leather dulls very quickly, but breaking them in isn't a problem at all. Save your money and buy a better pair, these are definitely not worth your money."

"My previous pair of these boots finally got worn out after over 4 years of HEAVY use. I just received my new pair from SmartPak. The new zipper appears much more durable, and the fit feels really good. These boots are great for schooling because they hold up well and are comfortable once broken in. I even wore them at A shows a few times and they worked fine! However, to be completely honest, these boots are not as nice of quality as most show boots out there. They aren't as well fitted through the ankle and the leather is pretty low quality (slicker, thicker, less soft). Once broken in, they do develop pretty decent grip which is nice. For the price, they are pretty unbeatable."

"Kate always wears Ariat Field Boots. Unfortunately, we ordered a size too big so had to return them for a smaller size. Very good quality for the price. My only negative is that the boots never wear out, but the zipper is what always gives out first."

"These boots were beautiful and I loved the quality of the leather and zipper, but they just did not fit. I sent them back 3 times and every time they were either too short, too tall, too slim, or too wide. Nothing worked. Ankles were also very baggy and didn't look good. SmartPak customer service was wonderful as always and didn't mind sending me a bunch of return labels!"

"This was the 3rd pair of these boots I've purchased for my growing daughter. When she was younger and didn't have a very shapely leg they fit her well, they are a great boot for the price, they still looked good when she grew out of them and I was able to re-sell them. I returned this last pair mainly because they were too short, but they were also really baggy in the ankle. Smart PAK customer service was great when I called for the return and then we upgraded to the Challenge which is more money but looks fantastic on her slender but well muscled leg."

"Sooo...ive had these boots since spring and i personally hate them. they feel like cardboard and they look like cardboard. they drop way more than they were supposed to (now i look like a fool with boots that are 2 inches too short) and they get super duper baggy around the ankles which make me look even stupider. i bought these when i rode barn ponies around the local shows but eneded up buying a horse and showing competively on the AA circuit...these boots dont fit well on the AA circuit. i think i am going to go to Monacos or customs...these boots were not worth it...."

"I love Ariat's hands down. I am very, very pleased with this boot. The only thing that I have to say is that the calf is a bit bigger than I anticipated and measured for. I followed all instructions and have had previously. They work just fine, but tighter may be a bit more polished. Nonetheless, I highly recommend. Very little break in time and look and feel great!"
