"These socks are great for warm-weather riding or showing, and they're incredibly comfortable. My only issue is that they're simply not durable enough for me. I ride a lot, and end up wearing out the toes and heels of these within a month or two. Might be perfect for people who are more casual riders, but they're too expensive for me to keep replacing!"

"I was disappointed with these socks. I was under the impression these were "tall" boot socks (knee high socks). They reach the middle of my calf. Other than that the material quality is good."

"I figured I would get the same quality as I've come to expect from their footwear. The socks have been washed twice and I'm already pulling threads. They slide down during the course of the day and ball up around my ankle. Won't be buying these again!"

"I bought three pairs of these socks. Never put them in the dryer and still they shrank. They come up to mid-calf now and are down around my ankles by the time I get off my horse. Very disappointing from a company as good as Ariat. Ready to throw them out."

"I wear a size 6 shoe, and I am fairly tall and slim. I bought the smaller size of these (size 6-10) and they are TINY. They are very snug, very difficult to get on, don't have much stretch, and the height of the socks is very short - only goes up to about mid-calf. The funny thing is they don't feel uncomfortable or too tight once you get them on - but they're just very difficult to get on. On the positive side though, these are built like iron - I've been wearing and washing them for at least 3 or 4 years and they still look almost new. I'd definitely buy them again but I'd just get the size 11-13 (which is insane given that my shoe size is a 6!) But yes, I would recommend them."

"These socks are really, really thin. I wore them about 5 times before they started to wear through at the toenail. They don't add bulk under your boot, and they aren't thick enough to be hot, but they aren't holding up like I would expect an Ariat product to do."

"I've sampled several of the pricey boot socks out there and they seem to shred to pieces. I worried these might be too thick for my tall dressage boots, but they are perfect and seem much more durable than other, thinner, nylon type socks. I will wear them for awhile to see if they hold up, but it looks promising - dollar for dollar, these seem to be a good bet."

"The description of these socks did not accurately portray the height of the socks. I don't consider them 'tall' socks by any stretch of the imagination.
The foot fit fine, but the top of the sock is right around mid-calf.
They are well made and will likely last a long time, but the very first time I wore them, I experienced problems with them sliding down. Any sock the stops mid-calf is more likely to slide down than a true over-the-calf sock.
I would not recommend them for someone who's wearing under tall boots or someone looking for a knee-sock or over-the-calf sock as they are not consider either one.
if someone wants a thinner sock and they're comfortable in mid-calf or crew socks, I'm sure they'd be fine."

"I bought these socks to wear with breeches under half-chaps and tall boots. They're very nice, albeit a bit pricey. The main problem, for me, is the fit -- I wear a full (not wide, just full) calf boot, and I spent the first day I wore the socks pulling them up over and over because they weren't long enough to both cover my calf and come up as high as they should. I'm sure they'd work nicely for someone with skinny calves, though!"
