Works well on a number of horses, just to take the edge off. Obviously it will not make up for bad behavior or excessive energy, but will help focus and reduce tension when used properly. I haven't had any trouble administering the product, and would recommend keeping at room tempature. This product is cheaper than some of the other quality calming prodcuts, so I think it is a really good value - especially with the two for one deal going on!

Smart calm ultra is a great product. I use the paste on my mare prior to working her. It really takes the edge off and helps her focus. I also use it to help my show gelding stay focused when we need it most. Not sure what I did without it.

Worked great on my gelding for the show. Used the SmartCalm Ultra pellets daily and use this for shows and traveling just for extra calming. Only thing is the smell of it and he didn't seem to like the taste very much lol!

I have tried this paste on 3 occasions. I gave it as instructed each time, half the night before and the other half the morning of. I used it because my horse is nervous about the trailer. I have noticed no effect whatsoever. It also smells pretty bad and my horse really hates to eat it, even if mixed in food. My horse isn't a picky eater, but this is worse than dewormer. I have 2 more tubes left so I will give it another try but am not counting on it. I also use smart calm ultra pellets and I am now wondering if even those are making a difference. I really like SmartPak products so I was really rooting for this product.

I bought this for the use at shows to make my greenie calm down. I've used this product correctly 3 times, and I bought the 5-pack. It smells disgusting, and I bet it doesn't taste the best either. The tube is huge! Hard to fit in anyone's mouth. The first time I used it, I could tell he was just a wee bit calmer. We had dressage first, but as soon as we entered the ring, he was hyped up again. We had jumping next, and it was just gone. No sign that I had even given him a calming agent. He hates the taste of it, and always tries to spit it out. I think it'd work better on a more experienced show horse that needs to be calmed down. The pellets sound like a better deal though.

I took my mare on an overnight trip for the first time. She has a tendency to be anxious and is not used to being stalled or confined. I gave her this paste right before we left and she was surprisingly mellow when we got to our destination and stalled her for the evening. She was still doing good the next morning with no signs that she paced or pawed like I suspected she would. I would definitely use this again in the future.

This is a great product if you need to take the edge off your horse for a clinic or show. The only part I am not a huge fan of is that you need to give it 12 hrs ahead and then 2-4 hrs ahead. which is great if you know you are doing an all day event or something. Not great if you have a random dressage ride time. Though I have used it with the times not exact and it still works.

I have a mare that was a show jumper and I switched her to Eventing this year. I have STRUGGLED with the dressage phase because despite working beautifully at home and in our warm up she tenses up as soon as we come down center line with major anxiety. After recently using this product in combination with SmartPak Ultra Calm supplements and Smart Mare Harmony we scored out best test ever! We went from scoring a 43.5 to a 30.5 in one month.

This product seemed to work really well for my horse. I used it to take the edge off when trailering. My horse is the type of horse that gives you a little trouble loading but for the most part can consistently get on the trailer within 10 min. However once on the trailer he doesn’t seem to want to move a muscle. I tried the SmartCalm Ultra as directed and he got right on the trailer and seemed to be less stressed once we arrived at our destination. It seemed to help take the edge off, but he was able to perform as normal. Our destination was a large horse park to school cross country for 2 days and he was great!

I absolutely love this stuff! It works incredibly well to help sooth my anxious mare without making her groggy or out-of-it. I administer half a tube the night before and usually that's all I need for a morning show! If I'm going to an all-day event, then I'll give the second half in the morning. Not tasty at all so make sure you have treats on hand, but that's my only warning. I would highly recommend this product!
*p.s. My mare is also nervous when trailering and this paste really helps to keep her chill in the trailer and confidently load and unload.

My mare is always spirited but when I started showing her in an indoor arena she was totally bugging out! My vet recommended SmartCalm Ultra. SmartCalm Ultra paste alone made a difference and when paired with daily SmartCalm Ultra pellets, she is definitely calmer! She is still her same spirited self but able to keep it together. I keep her on the pellets daily and use the paste the night before and morning of her shows. I love this stuff!
