"Purchased to help my horse drink better away from home. It did encourage him to drink and therefore eat, but it was very slimy. It was a cold weekend so I don't think the consistency is subject to temps. Everything I wore that weekend had slime on it."

"I do not administer Electrolytes regularly, but this product is really good to have on hand. I like to keep a couple tubes for the hottest part of the year and for shows and other events where the horses are working really hard and sweating a lot."

"I have only used one tube so far, but like that there are two doses per tube. I kept mine stored in a cool tackroom so mine wasn't runny like some others mentioned and was fine to get out. I think its a great product at a great price."

"My horse likes the taste & she drinks a ton of water after she gets this paste, and I don't even give her a full dose. It is a little runny if it is hot out, but not a big deal. The price was great, too."

"Needed a low-sugar, easy to administer electrolytes paste for those few times during the summer when the temps rise and the humidity is too much to bear. The need to replace lost minerals and electrolytes is especially important for our pony with Cushings. The paste is easy to administer and I liked the buy one get one deal."

"Used SmartLytes Paste for the first time the night before a competitive trail ride. I wanted to use paste, rather than other methods, to be sure the electrolytes actually went into the horse. My horse drank well that night and the next morning. The result was that the horse received the second highest score for the event. Thanks, Smart Paks!

"I have used this twice on both my horses now. It works well and seems fairly palatable. It is a little bit hard to administer because of the size of the tube, but most of these types of things are like that. It is a great value! I will definately continue to use it"

"I used this paste a few times last year but I don't remember it being this messy. I just bought the 5-pack to use before and after shows this year since my mare doesn't drink much away from home. I used it last weekend and she drank 1 1/2 buckets while at the show! Huge improvement from last year! She is also on the daily powder but I like being able to give her a boost before and after a long, hot show. I like that there are 2 servings per tube, but the paste is very messy or at least when it's warm. I will try putting it in the fridge before use as others have suggested. The gray paste ran right out of her mouth when she tried to swallow and made quite the mess but I just washed it off in her water bucket so it didn't really go to waste."

"I ordered two tubes of Smartlytes last week with my fly sheet and my horse seems to like it pretty well. The recommended dose is 1/2 of a tube, but since my horse has a salt block, as well as a trace mineral block in his pasture, I only give him about 1/4 of a tube at a time. Between the electrolytes and the salt/trace, his level of hydration is much better. Will definitely buy again."

"I have an OTTB who has been known to tie up on occasion. I got the SmartLytes Paste to use when bringing him back into work (on hot days) after my second son was born. It has done the trick and he hasn't tied up again, however the paste is super goopy! I have to be careful in removing the cap as it wants to ooze out immediately. Also it is kind of gray/ green and I have to be careful to clean my gray horse's muzzle afterward."

"I bought this for a horse I imported. I was concerned about the climate change from very cold to very hot environment. The first time I administered the product, I thought I must have done something wrong....he spit it out the side of his mouth and wiped it off of his lips onto his leg! The next day I tried it again, with no better result. He opened his mouth and it literally dribbled off his tongue. I use Conquer paste quite efficiently, so it must be the consistency or palatability."
